Here is the starting lineup for the best players who never get to play because of their injuries. They could easily contest if not win a championship, but they are sidelined to much. So who's the MVP, the best player with the most talent who got robbed by a bum body?

PG: Gilbert Arenas

SG: Tracy McGrady

SF: Grant Hill

PF: Jermaine O'Neal

C: Yao Ming

Grant Hill was definitely the best all around player on that list. McGrady and Arenas may be better natural scorers, but Hill in the 90's w/ Detroit was something special

definitely Grant Hill. He was a gifted player but was limited after his injury, none of the guys listed have anything on Hill in his prime

I was going between him and J.O. but J.O. was so good from about 03-06, he was an MVP candidtate and was up with K.G. and Duncan, and brand is still relatively young, and he has a shot to come back still, J.O. doesnt

JO was never an MVP player, even in the 04-05 season. Grant Hill was a more versatile player then J.O anyways, so GH>JO, i'd say Grant Hill=Tmac because both can pass really well, they have good handles, and could score just about anyone in their prime.

my vote goes to Grant Hill, who, imo, would've been a potential HoFer if not for his persistent injuries and bad luck. I think T Mac and Arenas have had a couple of fantastic seasons, and their going down hill has not much to do with their injuries. Yaoming? lol... completely overrated so he shouldn't even be on the list.

Er, 20-10 players who consistently get named to the All-NBA team aren't normally considered overrated.

Forgot Penny. He could've gone down as one of the best PG's of all-time, and possibly even second to Magic.

Can't argue with Yao being on that list. Such potential limited to that darn foot injury.

out of that list i'd say t-mac had the most talent and probably would have had the best career. But the most disappointing had to be penny or hill since their injuries came so early and destroyed pretty much their entire game. I'd also add mcdyess, webber and coleman to that list. those guys were never healthy

He finished 3rd in MVP voting, he was an MVP caliber player. He never won it, but he was very close. Back from 03-05 people were saying that he was as good as garnett and duncan easily

NO! Hall of fame is place for great players who were great for their whole career. The players on this list, at their best, were hall of fame "TALENT", but there have been too many obstacles in their careers. McGrady is the most talented, but his best days are behind him, and due to injuries, as well as his lack of ANY playoff success will keep him as "just another" great talent. Yao would be the only one left, but his injuries every year will never let that happen. It takes a lot to be a Hall of Famer. It's more than just your ability. It's consistancy, longevity, success, etc. And none of the listed players meet those criterias

Maurice Stokes played only three seasons before his career-ending injury. He's in the Hall of Fame.

Oleg_Huzwog

That was an honorary election 50 years after he was done playing, and 35 years after he died. None of those players are getting into the hall of fame in the year 2060. That is an isolated example that makes zero sense to me. Trust me, if his career merrited a hall of fame election it wouldn't have taken 50 years after he played to get in.

Just thinking of a few, Alan Houston from the Knicks, Grant Hill from the Magic, Agent 0 from the Wiz, Tracey from the Rockets, Yao from the Rockets, Manu from the Spurs, and Dickerson from the Grizz (dude never even came back)

1st off do u think the players on that list given healthy would win Championships if they were on the same team? 2nd i agree base on that list Grant Hill was destined for greatness. and 3rd what about former Duke /Bulls number 2 pick Jayson Williams? If it wasnt for that motorcycle accident, Bulls fans wouldnt care where Derrick Rose was drafted.

Arenas might still have a few more seasons to be good but yeah if he wasn't injured all the time he could've made the team alot better, in his 3 mostly healthy seasons he averaged almost 30 PPG. But he's played like 15 games in the last 2 seasons

from 03-05 most thought he was. it was Tracy McGrady, Kobe Bryant, and Allen Iverson. Now its Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, and Dwyane Wade

Gilbert Arenas is a great player, but I think T-Mac had a lot more skills, and experience in the game, than Gilbert. Like come on, he can do anything in the game, shoot, drive, and not to mention, he was in the Dunk Competition.

no he really wouldn't. Anyone remember that one game in 04 when t-mac was absolutely dominated during the head to head matchup with kobe? The magic were cruising through the lakers the first 3 quarters, and tmac scored 30 plus in the first half. During the second half, kobe asked to be put on tmac defensively and completely shut him down, tmac only scored around 5 points that entire half and overtime. On the flipside, kobe put up 35ish on tmac including around 25 points in the final quarter + OT and ultimately won the game in a ridiculous comeback. That game pretty much ended all questions for me of who was the better player period since during those final minutes, these two matched straight up on both offense and defense and kobe EASILY came out on top. Tmac might have been evenly matched offensively, but overall not a chance

This team is for this decade, the 2000's. Penny wouldn't have been that good in this decade anyways, so he definitely shouldn't be on this team. Plus i kind of disagree with the TMac thing. He only has had 2 seasons where he played below 66 games, and that was this year and 06. We've seen what he could do, especially in Orlando when he led the league in scoring in 2003 with 32 ppg. But yeah, no one would replace him so I guess he's good for now.

And don't EVEN mention Ginobli. Just because he had one injury filled season? Allan, despite his injuries, was still prolific, which can't be said about other injured players.
