Since no one's really talking about the Olympics (with the exception of my other topic), I thought I'd start a real discussion. What are everyone's thoughts on the Opening ceremonies? What regulions should be put in place for Luge after the death of Nodar? What sport are you most looking forward to? We could even discuss other 2010 Winter Olympic Games stuff. Let's just talk about it.

Russia and Canada facing each other in hockey would be epic. I hope the US can go deep. I still give the US a chance with the most underrated goalie in the NHL in net, Ryan Miller.

Yeah, I felt this board needed its own, though I didn't know about that topic. I hope this topic doesn't get locked, though.

Does Olympic Hockey have a mercy rule? Because Canada is mericilessly sleighing Slovakia right now. lol@9-0. Obviously that's expected, though... >_>

North Korea is in it, they were in the parade of nations in the opening ceremony. They have a few athletes. Vietnam never really participates in the Winter Olympics, neither does much of the rest of Southeast Asia. There is no snow in that region of the world, therefore no winter sports.

North Korea marched in as Democratic People's Republic of Korea. So you probably didn't notice them coming in when they marched with the other countries that started with the letter D.

Ah... Ok. Also, just because there's no snow doesn't mean they can't be there. A lot of countries that don't really get snow are there. Look at the South American countries and even South Africa (though TBH S. Africa only has one athlete.) They just train outside their respective countries. Likewise, countries like Denmark or Iceland that you'd think would have more of a presence in these games brought very few athletes.

I'm not really implying that with my previous posts. Just saying that its easy to undestand why a country wouldn't be participating in the Winter Olympics, if theres no snow/winter sports in that region.

There were too many crashes in Women's Half Pipe. Also, too bad Lindsey Vonn failed to medal.

I am watching it:D I'm keeping up to date on everything.

While I am very disappointed by Canada's showing, there have been many positives and very good showing by Canadians. Like cross-country skiing.

But come on...two Canadians in the final of the 1000-metre final and we DON'T get a medal. Then we lose to the Americans in hockey:evil:. Own the Podium is failing.

But I've enjoyed watching the new events ski cross and snowboard cross, mainly because Canada is so good at them:P
