I love the show and now that the updates come out last monday I'm ready to start my franchise as well as continue my RTTS. Let's talk about the game. What we Like and dislike.

Last night I was shocked when my Catcher (24yrs) who helped lead the Reds to a WS (lost in 6) was traded me to Florida(who proptly dropped me back to AAA). WTF!!! 1 more year left in my contract. I'm outta there as soon as I can manage. lol

Changes/Additions to The Show 09 I'd like to see.....

  • Dynamic stadium flags that actually blow in wind direction
  • When catchers go for popups then take their mask off and throw it
  • Bugs where players and balls clip through stadium walls
  • Bug where line drives back to the pitcher go through him and not off of him
  • Home Run Derby / Online HR Derby
  • Graphical Improvements to grass / dirt
  • Further improvements to RTTS....Camera etc.
  • Other fielding glitches like first basement not actually stepping on the bag and getting the out.
  • Custom in-stadium music entrances

Other than those things (Which most bugs only happen every now and then not TOO often) I'm pretty happy....and if they changed everything on my list it would be the ULTIMATE game

I started my franchise play. I went with florida. offensively they're solid. only real problem there is Pitching. Players tend to get injured alot. I'm looking into some trading options tho. Defense is woefull to say the least. I wanna do a complete overhaul there. I'm giving myself 2-3 seasons to get a WS ring while keeping my payroll tru to life. I think I can pull it off lol:roll:

Hands down the best baseball game out right now. Players look like their real counterparts. The gameplay is fluid and realistic. All the games modes are deep and will keep any gamer busy for months to come. The only thing I don't like with the game is the clipping when players go through one another. Example: I don't like when a runner from 1st and successfully steals 2nd and he pops up through the infielder at times. Otherwise, it's the perfect baseball game.

Happens when you send a line drive at the pitcher too. But like you said still a great game to play. Got the marlins off to a 2-4 start. Swept the mets in the season opener then went on to lose 4 in a row. got swept by Pirates and lost game 1 to Nats. 2 more left in that series. Hopefully I'll get it turned around.

Hitting is easier IMO if you turn off the strike zone and guess pitch.

It allows you to see the ball better and you get much better than if you had guess pitch.

I find the best way to become a good hitter is to not track the ball the entire time. Before the pitch, keep your eyes on the pitcher, not on his throwing hand. In my case, this seems to give me better plate recognition, as my eyes are focused more on the strikezone rather then just the pitch.

I'm not doin so bad. My payroll is 16M and my rec is 32-19. lost my last 6 but I'm still only 4 games back of Mets. this season I set my own personal cap at 18M. in the next 2-3 seasons I'll only allow myself to go up to 31M which is what Florida spent on their last WS team.

Yeah the hardest part is finding the young cheap guys to trade for or bring up. Salary capping yourself makes the process even more challenging than just trying to take the Fishes to another WS.
