Ravens | J. Lewis to be released
Thu, 15 Feb 2007 08:52:02 -0800

Jamison Hensley, of the Baltimore Sun, reports the Baltimore Ravens are expected to release RB Jamal Lewis before he is due a $5 million roster bonus in March. If the Ravens cut Lewis, they are expected to save $3.3 million in salary cap room.

Thoughts on what team he should join?

They tried doing that last year but they let him back onto the team, I wonder why the Ravens are desperate to release Jamal...

If they release Lewis, I don't think they have another decent RB to replace him...or do they?

Not that I know of, maybe if they had done this last season they could of kept Chester Taylor.

Anyone can get 1000 yards with the Broncos......well except Maurice Clarett.

Exactly, so it looks like the Ravens will need to consider drafting a runningback this year.

Anyone know what pick they have in the first round?

I expect the ravens to release lewis and draft or sign a free agent for a new running back.  Right now ravens need a better running game then what lewis is currently giving them.  He isn't the same running back he once was when the ravens won the super bowl.

CT had a great year for Minn! I couldn't believe it! They could pick up a solid RB in the draft though so I would drop him because he is too sketchy lately.

I think that the Ravens will get OT Arron Sears in 1st rnd, and steall Michael Bush with their 2nd round draft pick.  Not many teams are needing runningbacks, and not many teams will risk a 1st round pick on Michael Bush, especially with him missing most of last season.  Michael Buch will make a great fit into Baltimore's offense.

That whole offense is a joke. McNair is still a good starter but I don't think he fits the offensive the Ravens run.

They got a nice up and coming receiver in Clayton, a nice TE in Heap....a great offensive line...so they got some parts set up already.

That is true, but they never get enough points. So maybe it is the quarterback...
