usually this would be a no brainer but i think 2k has stepped up their game enough where they are making this decision somewhat difficult this year. They are offering a million bucks. They also improved their game

this is how i see it

mlb 2k--

better commentary, statistical analys and presentation as far as camera angles and realtime

the control is more fun. i hate the meter pitching in the show

sig styles are more accurate

game looks like an early version of the show but is always buggy and ai can be glitchy and easy to figure out.

comparable modes as far as my player etc, smoother online but may change this year

offering a million dollars

mlb the show---

better graphics

much more polished gameplay

online play is supposed to be better this year. plus its free being on the ps3

added realtime presentation. animations are much more detailed and realistic.

Buy the Show, rent 2K so you have a shot at the million.

These two aren't right

The new Show additions make it far and away the better presented game with everything in realtime. MLB 2K10 doesn't have realtime, it has everything canned.

The styles in MLB 2K10 are nowhere near their real life counterparts. I mean in the demo we see that they don't have any of Jeter's mannerisms at the plate and his are some of the easiest to spot. Players like Rollins and Howard look nothing like their real life counterparts.

The only thing that 2K10 has over the Show is the announcing team, that's not enough to get the game

As for the million dollar prize? If that's a reason to buy or leave a game how bad does that game have to be?

2K10 is closer then it was last year but it's still not running perfectly just in the demo. Now 2K10 is a game made by people who abandoned their last game after one patch even though the fielding was broken, the players clipped right through the walls, players would lose their faces and end up the base model generic style for the rest of the time you played, and just froze up and was unplayable on consoles and the PC

They didn't care at all last season, will they this year? No idea but I don't feel like paying them to see

On the other hand go check out the devs for the Show posting regularly and taking feedback on their games, they don't hide from the people they make their money from. The 2K sports teams could learn a lesson there

I can't see how MLB 2K10 is worth it to anyone who also has the chance to buy the Show

I agree with Jayson. If you have the opportunity to buy the Show, you buy it. I bought a PS3 just for the Show (and the blu ray player).

Same here -- it was one of the reasons I didn't go for the 360. Although I'm still happy with last year's game I will say that if I were to buy a baseball game this year that it would be The Show. 2K just has too far to go to catch up this year -- perhaps next or the year after I'll view it as 'real' competition, but right now I think the Show is the definite way to go ...
