I honestly do not know what to say. Does Ford even watch this team? Why would he keep personell that allowed a team to most likely go 0-16? It is getting very difficult for me to follow this team anymore. It's almost like they do not want any more fans.

Maybe there is hope that they will do what the Dolphins did this year?

It might just be a matter of attraction. After this stellar output, is anybody w/ actual talent, ability, and skill going to want to go to Detroit?

Shame too, I feel Barry Sanders was the best running back ever to play in the NFL. This man never had the team Smith, Payton, Taylor, Sayers, Davis and many others had and I feel he did more. He had no air threat, he had no line and they would BARELY get into the playoffs if they did. I don't understand how you can draft good players like, Moore, Sanders, Sims, Harrington (I liked Harrington), Johnson, Williams (roy)... It was stupid to draft Rodgers and Mike Williams, you didn't need to draft 4 wide outs in a 4-5 year span. The Lions had the tools to be a good football team, I would be a very pissed off fan and probably would leave them and never watch them if I was a Lions fan. Sanders was a franchise player, it's hard to say that about a runnign back but people couldn't stop him. the man had 4 people in his face and he would run 10 yards backwards and still gain yardage lol. It was a shame to watch one of the best never get a shot at the title.

And to think, there were those that didn't truly believe Barry about why he was hanging it up. The man looks like a damn genius now, doesn't he?

After the last 50 years, there's no reason to believe any of those things will happen.

Who do they have to play last? Do you think going 0-16 will motivate them to win?

They play at Green Bay in the final week, and the link provided by the TC says "no". What I think will motivate this team to win is WCF Sr releasing control of the team to his son, and them completely cleaning house, then bringning in some competant football people to run the organization. Ya know, call Illitch, or the guy that owns the Pistons (can't for the life of me remember his name) and ask them what they looked for with similar positions.

true, if you watch some of his youtube highlights, he WAS the best running back who ever lived, he made something out of nothing all the time. crazy

As a Detroit sports fan it is sad that I have to put up with the Lions, who are the worst franchise in all of sports. They're a complete joke.

They're sad each and every year. You had a promising 07 season and that was it and they managed to screw that up.

They will lose so much money and have no fans that you'd think the NFL would just get rid of them. Such a shame with a shiny stadium.

I don't see it happening. They continue to sell out or never have black outs and they sucked for 50 years basically. In 50 years, they haven't won a playoff game and they still have a team. It's just amazing how they couldn't get a good GM in 50 years.

What happened to the Lions this year? I think they had a solid season last year. There was even the game against the Cowboys were they stood toe to toe with them. I really don't see how Sam Bradford would survive with such a bad O-line. I heard that the Lions may draft him No. 1 if he declares for the draft. From the games that I have seen him play with Oklahoma, he has a water tight pocket to throw from. I am not sure if he will be able to throw consistantly on the run with the Lions.

I'd go to the cardinals, they're going to the playoffs at least.

You know it is SAD that all of those people in Detroit who have lost their jobs (or been affected by loss of jobs) because of the big three's stupidity can't even go home and watch the NFL, which is the best sport in this country in my opinion.

If I lived in Detroit, I would seriously invest in pro basketball (pistons) and hockey (red wings), because the lions and tigers are two of the most pathetic franchises I have ever watched.
