I'd much rather have Cadillac Williams win this. Thoughts?

This is a complete joke that Cadillac Williams didnt win the award. He destroyed the patella in both of his knees BOTH OF HIS KNEES, and is now once again a starter. He is a RUNNINGBACK. Brady is nice, but seriously Cadillac Williams should have been given this award, and comeback player of the year award is a joke because of Brady winning.

Barely over 800 yards with 3TD's on a team that went nowhere? Ehh
Brady was just shy of 4400 yards with 28 touchdowns and got a rebuilding Pats team to the playoffs, that's a bit better.
Brady put up one of his best seasons (second best by QB rating) after having his knee rebuilt and then dealing with the infection and complications.
The fact that Williams is a running back doesn't mean much, what do you think Brady uses to power his throws?

Bucs are terrible, and Patriots are not. Last year Pats went 11-5, and this year they went 10-6. Im not seeing where Brady should have beaten Cadillac Williams, barely over 800 yards..........with an offensive line that is complete garbage. He worked for every single one of those 800 yards, with two brand new knees. Brady played great, but to say that he was a bigger comeback player then Cadillac Williams is nonsense.
And your point that QB's use their knees to throw is fantastic, but Williams knees are the bread and butter of how he operates. Maybe if Brady had his arm severed off, then i could see Brady over Williams.
Brady left with a high Caliber Team with good defense and leaders on it....Then came back from an ACL injury, New offensive coordinator, and his young defense couldnt stop anyone...this year the pats should have had a losing record........Williams had 800+ yards 4TD....what those are secord string RB statsMunasha
Patriots went from amazing defense to average defense. You fail to recognize that Cadillac Williams got those yards with absolutely zero offensive line, and nopassing threat. New offensive coordinator, ok fantastic the team was built around Brady so same offense different person watching Brady throw. You guys also don't really understand the purpose of the comeback player of the year award. Any other RB with those kind of devastating knee injuries, both of his knees would probably never play again. Tom Brady injured his knee in the 1st 5 minutes of the season so he had alot more time to re cooperate as well. Brady played great duhh thanks for pointing that out, but to say Brady did more then Cadillac Williams is insane. Hell im not even sure why Brett Favre was even on the list. What did he come back from? Its clear this award is just a popularity contest, and coming back from career ending injuries isnt as relevent as how well known someone is.
Please get off of Brady's nuts. Giselle is taking care of em.

Most of these awards are popularity contests...Just like the Chargers were know for the running game but Rivers turned them into a super passing team and has an average Defense...but everyone just talks about manning for MVP when he has a probowl oline.....wayne and clark...and a Defense full of probolwers...So yes it is a popularity contestsI agree that most of these awards are popularity contests (Manning MVP last year screams at me), but I'm not sure about this one; Chad Pennington has won this one twice...bball_freak_2I think in the NFL with short careers and so forth it can bet an awkward award at times. You only have so many players with longer careers who could play long enough to have a comeback and the season is short so... heck if I know.
How stupid... of course Brady the Lady gets it because he is the golden boy of the NFL. What about Cedric Benson, or even Brett Favre?
I'm no fan of Brady. I think he's an overhyped product of the system he plays in, but he deserved this award. Him "only" blowing out one knee instead of two is a silly reason to argue against him.
Indeed, Benson and Cadillac deserve it over him IMO.How stupid... of course Brady the Lady gets it because he is the golden boy of the NFL. What about Cedric Benson, or even Brett Favre?

With all respect to Tom Brady, he should not have won it. Pretty much everyoneknewBrady would come back this year and have a good season. An injury should not be the complete basis for this award. Many otherpeople were way more deserving
Cedric Benson: Who reallybelieved he would havethis kind of season? Many people people thought his career was essentiallyover after his arrest and release from the bears.
Cadillac Williams: if injury is the basis for the award, why not a guy whose had an acl tear in both his knees at different times. Thats amazing to think hes come back and put up decent numbers.
Vince Young: to come back after beingbenched and people thinking he may be a bust. He had a great season this year.
Brett Favre: he may even be mvp this year, but who possibly could havepredicted this successful season.A lot ofpeople, myself included, felt this season was going to go bad for him, given how bad he finished with theJets.
It's pretty funny because it seems like the only people who actually think he deserved it are mostly Patriot fans.
Well with that same system with Drew Bledsoe they went 5-11. Since Brady took over they haven't had a losing season. Though I'm not going to argue that it is not a good coaching staff, but Brady has still performed at an elite level with subpar WR through majority of his career. Matt Cassell and that team last year does not win 11 games without Randy Moss, Wes Welker, they also don't win 11 games with Matt Cassell last year if they had WR of the likes of Caldwell, Branch or Givens. Brady is far from overhyped.I'm no fan of Brady. I think he's an overhyped product of the system he plays in, but he deserved this award. Indeed, Benson and Cadillac deserve it over him IMO. Doesn't it make sense that if multiple people come back from a season ending injury the year before and if one has had a better season then the other does it not make sense to give it to that person? I don't understand why people are getting so uptight about it? Cadillac had a decent year, no doubt, but Brady is just as deserving.Cadillac Williams didnt really have a good year, Brady did. This is a complete joke that Cadillac Williams didnt win the award. Lets be honest, Brady had this locked up Week 1 when he stepped onto the field.monkeytoes61Pretty much.
Lets be honest, Brady had this locked up Week 1 when he stepped onto the field.monkeytoes61Unless he got hurt again. Then he would have been the winner of the first ever Tom Brady Fail Award.
Where is JustOsmo when you need him?monkeytoes61After official review the ref confirms it was a joke. 1st down. :P
Why are some of you saying Bret Favre? What did he come back from? His 'To Be Or Not To Be?' retirement fiasco year after year?

You know I hear everyone talking about this, but every damn wide receiver, QB, DB, and almost every other position is looking for a flag on a big play or a play that makes a difference in the ball game. Don't give me this crap that its only Brady and pointing out only Brady because of the last game they played against Baltimore. If you watch football every player does it.
I think it was because Palmer wasn't winning most of the games, but rather that tight CIN defense was. Palmer really struggled down the stretch passing the ball too. I do not understand why there is a debate, Brady had this easily, last year Pennington won because of the injury he suffered on his rotator cuff, Brady had his knee destroyed last year, and came back to be on the top of the best QBs this year. Remember Palmer when he came back from his knee injury? Still hasnt regain that form he had before.I'm surprised Carson Palmer's name hasn't come up.

Of course you want Brady to get it because you're a Patriots fan, can you get more biased?

Comeback Player of the Year isn't an award us Patriot fans cross our fingers for, I can't speak for all teams but we go after the other trophies... If anyone on the Bengals was to get it it shoulda been Benson. Palmer doesn't deserve it, he didn't really play all that well. It has been said already but the running game and defense carried that team. Please Log In to post.
