Defining "young" as drafted 2009 or earlier:
1. Cam Newton
2. Matthew Stafford
3. Andrew Luck
4. RG3
5. Dalton
6. Freeman but honestly it's pretty much a crapshoot. Ponder and Locker are unproven, Bradford is talented but way too injury prone, and Freeman took a huge step back this year.
The better question would be like last year's "top 5 QBs 5 years from now" or something along this lines.
Stafford at 5? Did you forget that he threw for 5,000 yards this season?monkeytoes61*in no particular order*
I thought about that, but we would have to take into account retirements and drafted QBs.The better question would be like last year's "top 5 QBs 5 years from now" or something along this lines.

Jake Locker for the win. Also, Ryan Malletjuden41Eh, I'm a Pats fan but it is hard to get an opinion on him because of what little he has played.
Lol wow the cam newton love is baffling.
It's as if the entire world only watched his first two games. I'd take luck, RG3 and stafford over him any day.
He's solid, but nowhere near as great as people try to make him into. I remember on ESPN the other day they said that the Panthers will be first place in the NFC South this upcoming season due to him. That definitely made my day.

I think you're fibbing
Taking two people who've never played over someone who's done pretty well in his first NFL season?
I don't buy it

Why not? They definitely show the potential. Last year I said I'd take newton over freeman before he even threw his first ball and he didn't disappointed me in that aspect. What do you consider elite? Yards? Wins? Division titles? Rings?
Stafford is already elite in my book.
Seasons from now...
Bradford has a chance, but I don't care for Fisher as Rams HC.
Luck has a chance, but I doubt he will be what Manning was and Colts will be rebuilding for a while.
RGIII, can't fathom Redskins emerging from that conference anytime soon especially with all those picks they gave up for RGIII.
Cam and Dalton will have the biggest impact this season outside of Stafford.
As a Jags fan, I still consider the Manningless AFCS to be as wide open as it's been in years. I'm expecting a night and day difference in our offense.
6. Matt Flynn: he will be another Matt Hasselbeck kind of player.
5. Josh Freeman: inconsistent at times, but i think he will improve.
4. Andy Dalton: He played well last year, i think he is a very serviceable qb in the NFL, top 10 qb one day
3. Robert Griffin III: Man is a hard worker, i think he will be a star from his 1st start, i really think he could be a top 5 qb in this league in 2-3 years
2. Jake Locker: Sitting his rookie year and maybe next year will benefit him a lot, look for him to be really good in the coming years.
1. Cam Newton: The man is just a beast, he reminds me a lot of vince young his rookie year, just i think he will not have a sophomore slump
I'm thinking more of who will be the most elite in, say three years for now. What do you consider elite? Yards? Wins? Division titles? Rings?
Stafford is already elite in my book.

Good thing I didn't do it huh. I never said you did. Someone else did though. I probably should have quoted them to avoid confusion. :P[QUOTE="Toxic-Seahorse"]
Puting Cam Newton over Matthew Stafford is such a joke.

Stafford still doesn't have me convinced. If the Madden curse strikes this year and Megatron is out for a bit, everyone will see Stafford's true colors. He's nothing special in my eyes, he has the best WR of the past 10 years to throw to right now and a very nice team all around him.
Many other QBs would have identical success on that team.
[QUOTE="Toxic-Seahorse"]This and please no one mention Freemen...please.Puting Cam Newton over Matthew Stafford is such a joke.

I think I had Freeman in one of my fantasy leagues thanks to the 'experts' :(
He did put up yards and maybe touchdowns at the end of the game though...during garbage time

I agree with you. I want to see one more awesome year from matt and I'll be convinced.Stafford still doesn't have me convinced. 5000 yards isn't convincing? Not to mention the Lion's non existing running game. He had to throw the ball and he had to throw it very often. Not to mention we were always playing catch up because our secondary was atrocious.Stafford still doesn't have me convinced. [QUOTE="DaJuicyMan"]5000 yards isn't convincing? Not to mention the Lion's non existing running game. He had to throw the ball and he had to throw it very often. Not to mention we were always playing catch up because our secondary was atrocious. that argument is terrible... And counter-productive. His yards per attempt and yards per completion aren't high, his attempts however are. 5,000 yards is less impressive when you consider he threw more than every other QB in the league. Comparing him to the elites? He fails hard. Drew Brees threw 6 less times and had 400 more yards. Brady threw 50 fewer and had 200 more yards. Eli threw 60 fewer times and only had 100 fewer yards. In fact, if all QBs threw as often (while mantaiining their ypa) 13 total ANd would have thrown for over 5000 yards this year Rodgers Brady Schaub Palmer Manning Brees Romo Big Ben Rivers Newton Vick KolbStafford still doesn't have me convinced.
