TJ Ford + Rasho Nesterovic + 17th pick + One more role player for O'neil.

Sounds good as long as O'neil stays healthy. How well do you think the raptors rank in the eastern conference, if the trade goes down?

that's a lot to give up for a player who's only played half seasons for the past four years. When he's healthy, he's got all the talent in the world, too bad he never is

It would be a great move by The Raptors to pick up JO, as he is a fantastic defender and still has a few years left in him. JO and Bosh together would be a deadly frontline.. for real.

Ive been a die hard pacer fan for 20 years and I have so much respect for JO, hes played injured so many times and always gives 100% on the defensive end. I hate to see him leave, but hes a great player and gave his all while in Indiana, wish him the best in TO if he ends up there.

The raptors whould try and pick up another PG though before the season ends.

O'Neil was thrown under a bus in Indiana. Get him out of that situation and I bet things get better for him.

He's the only one on that team that made it to the championship to stay and try to make the team better. He'd rather become a FA but he's set to make some ungodly amount over the next 2 seasons so he's staying put hoping that they trade him.

Hopefully they do

Sounds like a pretty good deal for Toronto if he can stay healthy.

it's a pretty good deal because Calderon is already becoming a potential all star PG and having chris bosh and JO would make this team a force down low

He's played in 206 of a possible 328 games in the last 4 years, out of those he only started 191

He's got to stay healthy and do a makeover on his entire life, mind and body.

Well they've already agreed with the trade. According to Ford's contract, the trade cannot be completed until July 9th

I'm happy with this trade. As for our new backup PG, that role will probably belong to prospect Roko Ukic, I hear he's very good.

Good deal for the Raps, although I would have rather had them ship out a 2nd or 3rd rounder than a first. With O'Neil on board Rasho becomes spare parts and I'd rather have Calderon than Ford. Plus when the huge 2010 FA season rolls around the Raps are going to cash galore.

O'Neal and Bosh form a pretty scary frontline. So I guess Toronto gave up on Bargnani?

finally!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

a player who can play defence thank you colangelo

stupid bargniani i would be so happy if they trade him back to italy for some nice italian pizza.

anyway now every team wont be able to double team bosh they would have to watch out for o'neal. this team will have a totally different game plan now it has 3 very good perimeter players(caulderon, parker, kapono or moon) and two very good interior players (Bosh. O'neal), meaning they wont have to rely on their jump shooting and now combine both jump shooting and interior offense. well their bench wont be that great but they are getting a good PG from europe which is said to be ready for the NBA.

Not at all, he's only 22 or 23 and the Raps knew he would be a project when they drafted him. In fact bringing in O'Neal will probably help Bargnani's development by taking some pressure off him and allowing him to learn from a more traditional big-man than Bosh.

This helps Raptors' front court. But in order for this to work, O'Neal needs to stay healthy.

Im a die hard pacers fan and have been for years and years, raptors are also my 2nd team because im in Canada as are the raptors.

I think for both teams this could turn out to be a good trade for both. JO when healthy is one of the leagues best defenders, and also a force on teh offensive end. For the pacers they found someone to take over for the horribel Tinsley at point guard by picking up TJ Ford, who is also one of my fav players. So for me i hope it works out for both players and teams. Im sure worried about the pacers inside pressence now without JO, Bird MUST get a PF or centre in this draft.

If JO plays most the season i can see the raptors as one of the top 3 teams in the east next year. A health JO and Bosh is a nasty front court. As for my pacers, we are getting young guys and in somewhat of a rebuilding proccess, which TJ fits into because hes not that old yet and should play very well in Obriens offense, and also i think TJ and Danny Granger will play very well together.

Absolutely not. He'll be the backup to both Bosh and O'neal, still giving him a solid 25-30 minutes, a role he should be much more comfortable in, plus he'll have 2 bigmen on the team to learn from.

I said Ford was in a losing situation, not the Raptors are a losing team. It's a losing situation for him because Calderon was gonna start over him, you know this I do not need to explain. In Indiana he will start eventually, depends on what they do with Tinsley.

O'Neal is a great player, only if he had played more. Last time I saw him he massacred some hispanics cheek at the Palace.steelers89

The racist overtone is strong in this one.

True. Parker will be leaving us for a European club next season, and Delfino maybe this season. Parker will make something like $5-8 million a year, which is crazy for someone who was just a role player here. I think this may turn out to be a real problem soon.

Jermaine has always had bad playoff performances, but now that he has Bosh and Bargnani he might have a great season ahead of him

bargnani won't add anything other than giving o'neal more playing time. And looks like the raps are close to getting ukic from the euroleagues, which should be good news if he's anything as good as his hype
