He only said he needed surgery because he doesn't want to go to NJ. Benjiman_Guilethat would be funny if he actually didnt get injure every single year...

You must not have understood what i posted. Carter doesnt give 100% on the court imo, most the time hes giving 70% and i dont like that. I have no respect for someone who has great athletic ability but doesnt give it there all on the court. I personally have more respect for players who try 110, even if they cant dunk or arnt athletically gifted.
I cant respect any player who gives up in games, im sorry man, you might respect Carter but i dont. As soon as he came to the NBA hes been a player who only plays 100% when they feel like it. He had good work ethic in college (saw him numerous times live), but ive honestly been very dissapointed with Carter since hes been in the NBA. Just because you can dunk really good doesnt make you a player who i respect. If you dont put 110% into your game when you are on the court, its hard for me to respect you. Carter has known to be lazy, not play defense and not be the best player in the locker room.
He has great dunks and is very athletically gifted. He can be a top 15 player in the NBA WHEN HE PUTS IN THE EFFORT but impo he doesnt put in the effort often enough. Its sad to see someone with such athletic talent, not put in 110% effort everytime he steps on the court.
Also someone who gives up on there team when they are not playing well gets ZERO respect from me. Hes not as injured as TMac is, but he puts in even less effort imo.

and you obviously dont watch vince carter or the nets at all because this man plays hard every game. Did he give up last night when his team was down by 20 no he still went out and scored 30. Your the only person who think Vince Carter is not trying out there on the court. You never hear about it because its not true. Looks liek your just basing the man on his final years as a raptor.[QUOTE="kozzy1234"][QUOTE="NetYankEagle"]tell em the last time vince carter miss games long term ill wait.NetYankEagle

Looks liek your just basing the man on his final years as a raptor.I have seen alot of Nets games this year actually. Harris has been playing amazing and Lopez to has been one of hte better rookies of the year. Like usualy Carter has played very well some games and terible other games (on the offensive end), but he doesnt put any effort into defense and imo he could be a much better teamplayer/passer. His shot is money and hes been scoring well this year, but not much else. This is just my opinion man, i dont like players who take plays off and dont give 110%, and Carter imo is one of those players (Carter, Tmac, Tinsley, Randolph and Arenas are others who come to mind).
Hes one of the top 10 offensive players in the NBA and one of the best dunkers of all time, but his defense, passing and effort imo could be ALOT better.
Yes hes giving more of an effort then he has in the past, but i still feel like he could still give more effort at times. Once again, just an opinion. Yes his effort is better then it was at the end of his stint in Toronto, but he still takes alot of plays off imo, while relying on his talent more then his hustle/effort IMO.
I respect your opinion man, but imo he could still improve his effort, passing and his leadership. Hes cleaning his image up with how hes been in NJ so far, but he still has a long way to go imo, bball isnt just about scoring.
I'm starting to question who got the better of that trade some few years ago(Francis for McGrady)SonicBallanone
IF T-Mac can realize he's not a superstar any longer and go to a contending team being the #2 or even #3 guy, he can contribute greatly, that is IF he can put his ego aside and make the realization that he's no longer the go to guy. feryl06Yep, ala Grant Hill.
.....seriously this is getting ridiculous. he should retire. NOWsilky_smooth8
I live in Houston so I know all about McGrady and he's to young to retire 1st of allHe's out for the rest of this season too.. :(
He's a great player and one of the key players to the sucess of our team.
Only problem with him is that he's fragile and gets hurt to easily but other than that he still amazing and we'd kick ASS (if he ever comes back) ;)
As a Rockets fan upon first hearing this news I was devastated but then I realized we still have a good team even without T-Mac. I hope the guy gets fully healthy and comes back better then ever next year. I dont want to see his career end with a bunch of injuries. I'm hoping my Rockets do some damage in this year's playoffs.coltsfan4ever
I agree with you man.
the rockets is my team but they just injury prone allways happen at the wrong time of the season i see good things coming for aaron brooks thoughMURDA_B
Yeah, Brooks is one of my favorites and yep things look pretty good for him.
Put this guy on the all injury team with Gilbert Arenas, its funny that Stephen A Smith said tmac wants to have surgery now so he can come back next year and have a good year so he can get a new contract in the summer of 2010. what team would be crazy enough to sign him to a long term deal or a big contract? Kuruption84
I dont know but hes done as a Rocket next year. thank god.
