2-0 now :P
It's the Confederations Cup. It's like the mini-World Cup that always comes one year before the big World Cup...
Only 8 countries are playing. 6 champions from different continents, plus one host country and plus one reigning champion from the last FIFA World Cup.
I can't believe that Spain is getting pressured like that.
This is unreal. Last week they were almost out of the Confederations Cup, now they're going to the Final. Very deserving win for them. It will quite some critics for a while.
That was a surprise to me. I didn't think USA had it in them, but they played well and made the plays they needed to win. They looked like a completely different team from the 1st 2 games. Big win.
I thought Bradley's straight red was a bit harsh. His feet didn't look extended.
Good lord! I take my hat off to these guys. A completely different side to their first two games and wow did they deserve it. They had a fantastic match with Egypt and completely worked their butts off today. If Brazil somehow loses tomorow, who knows, they could actually win the whole thing. Solid defence imo. Unfortunately I owe someone £10 now and was really looking forward to a Spainvs Brazil final...
We really don't. There are few but it's cause most of our Elite Athletes aren't playing Soccer. We need some of our Kobe Bryant's and Adrian Peterson's to play Soccer to get some buzz going.I thought no one like soccer in here, US is done well today

I heard today on the radio that ESPN had struck some deal with the English Premiership to broadcast some games. Someone correct me if I'm wrong about that.USshould live more soccer games on TV, this game is extreme inspirational

Anyways, USA USA USA! I was so angry I couldn't see the majority of the game because I had class. I was able to see the final 8 minutes of the game, and was completely stunned looking at the score. Losing Michael Bradley to a red card hurts for the Confederations Cup final. Oh well I guess? I'm just glad that USA was able to bring their A-game recently. The necessary tie breaker scenario in their group happening was simply unbelievable. Whoever they face in the Final "most likely Brazil", I hope they learn from the experience and show alot of heart next year in South Africa 2010. The future seems at least somewhat bright for Team USA.

But they havent brought their A game - they looked dismal against both Brasil and Italy. And I know it doesnt matter, but all 3 goals against Egypt were pretty ugly - 2 of them against a goalie who looked completely out of it. Somehow they managed to sneak by Spain; a combination of terrible finishing by Spain and some good defense by the US... you have to score to win and Spain couldnt put any of their myriad of opportunities into the net.[QUOTE="CommanderShiro"]I heard today on the radio that ESPN had struck some deal with the English Premiership to broadcast some games. Yeah I guess you're right. Though when I meant recently I was referring to today and Egypt. I'm well aware of the disaster against Italy and Brazil. At least I'm someone in the USA that has a bit of optimism for the team and the sport.Yeah I guess you're right. Though when I meant recently I was referring to today and Egypt. If I could use one word to describe the game, it would be "fluke" (not "luck," since Spain had so many opportunities but didn't convert a single one... you make your own luck)CommanderShiro

Getting past the group stages is all I really want to see out of them next year. Maybe even a Quarterfinal....[QUOTE="CommanderShiro"]Yeah I guess you're right. I wouldn't call it a fluke. I fully expected Spain to win and watched the game anticipating a dominant performance from Villa and Torres. It just didn't happen. Spain had some great chances but US always seemed to have someone get in the way or Howard would make a good save. Tha isn't a fluke. The goal Jozy scored was luck but also just good placement. He caught Iker going the opposite way so Iker was unable to get a strong enough touch on it to send it out. Dempsey's goal was just a mistake by Ramos...but what do you expect from Madrid players:P. At the end of the day US did what they needed to do to win. Was it ugly? Yes. Do they care? No because they move on. A fluke would have been an own goal by Spain. The US set up their chances and took advantage. Nothing was handed to them.

the bounces sure did go the USA's way...but we'll take it.
[QUOTE="barcx17"]Hater?Whatever, Brazil is going to the finals and they'll beat USA for sure.

Yes. I'm Mexican, we automatically hate USA in football. Plus, Brazil already beat them 3-0. It's going to be a good match because Julio Cesar and Howard have been phenomenal (I can't believe a Mexican just called Howard phenomenal  ) goalkeepers in the tournament.
