People say that if Vick is cleared of charges, he should be able to play in the league without question. Fine. Question is, if Donaghy is cleared of his accusations, should he be able to call another game in the association? Most might say no, because the "integrity of the game" would be at risk. I see a double standard.

in this particular case i do not think this will even be an issue because various reports have stated that Donaghy was known to have a gambling problem, and he has also stated that he will cooperate with the investigation after he surrenders. it doesnt sound like hes even trying to be innocent. I think if you are innocent of a crime you should be allowed to play/participate, unless you have proven time and time again that you cant handle it. (pacman jones, michael vick to an extent).

Various Reports... They don't mean anything...basically rumors inside the league. When it comes to cooperation with the investigation...that could mean anything. Sounds like something a lawyer would tell his client to say. "Tell them you will cooperate, then bust out NO COMMENT and call me in the morning".

sorry, but i doubt it. he is probably a broken man. he is known to have extensive gambling debts. i doubt he has any reason to hide names etc. if youre looking for a conspiracy in this one, i dont think it is going to be fueled by donaghy.

This thread fails?? Fine. I was just trying to see if there was a difference between a player being under investigation, and a referee/umpire being under investigation. Thats all. So Donaghy was a bad example. The question still exist. If Donaghy was to be proven innocent..or not proven guilty, would he be aloud back to the NBA? I don't think so. But I feel that Vick in the same situation would be aloud back to his league.

So you agree...a ref gets no justice in that situation.

Vick isnt a ref so it is a different situation. Vick will get a suspension no matter what as he is responsible(morally and legally in this case) for the company he keeps.
