I think its a good pick up for the eagles. And Im glad to see Vick get another chance to continue his nfl career. He paid his dues to society and only ignorant people would continue to see the man suffer. I hope this helps the eagles win their division. Man I really hate the cowboys and would love to see them fall flat on their faces.

I'm I the only one that doesn't see how this benefits the eagles in any way, shape or form?

In other news, Stallworth will not play this year.

It's not like he's going to be competing for the starting QB position. He's going to be a playmaker who gives an added dimension to their offense. McNabb should be thankful for getting another weapon--and he will be.

I agree. I like McNabb but hate how philly fans are so quick to always throw him under the bus when something goes wrong. When healthy he is easily a top 5 qb imo

Andy really has a thing for bad QB's lol

Well this will be fun to watch one way or the other

He'll either do well and he'll be fun to watch or he'll do poorly and it'll be fun to watch him fail

Either way the fans win

This seeme like a stupid move. Like others have said, there's no way he's replacing McNabb. So you signed him as a backup, but you're paying a Vick-size salary for a backup QB? How much sense does that make?

I have a feeling he isn't going to just be standing on the sidelines as a number-two QB. He's gonna get looks and touches in creative ways.

Well , it's illegal. And if he gets caught .... his time in the NFL would probably be over for good because he's on thin ice as it is. Hope he sticks around , but that's what I'd be most worried about.

I agree, pot's never an issue unless a player gets tested. With other drugs you can see differences in their behavior, with pot they act normally and then test positive and all of the sudden they're troublemakers.

Vick, Desean Jackson and Maclin=unlimited possibilities on offense. Even if Vick isn't the starting QB he can he'll probably get a lot of opportunities for trick plays and different offensive plays that mcnabb isn't suited for

He's been out of football for two years now, spending most of that time in a jail cell. I think its going to take awhile before he performs anywhere close to what he did when he left. Don't forget that he's suspended for a few games too.

Because Coach Dungy ain't all knowing, his son took his life, and he had Tony as his father. So what makes YOU think that talking for a few hours with Vick can turn him unto a new person. No hating here, the work that Dungy does spreading the word of God is comendable but don't set your expectation too high.

The eagles have always been open to dealing with McNabb. This time around, they wont be a hesitant as before. If McNabb is flat out horrible, in comes Vick until the eagles can fix things

here's the bottom line. The commissioner even told him when they met, that he is on a VERY SHORT LEASH. I'm not a Vick fan (not cause of his criminal activity, just thought he was extremely overrated), but one would have to believe that after ALL that has gone on with him over the past couple years, it would be nothing short of COMPLETE STUPIDITY for him to get in ANY kind of trouble. I expect him to be a model citizen for a long time, or at least until the cloud over him passes (which won't be anytime soon). If he messes up in any way, he's out the league for good. He knows that, he won't mess up

  • Of the 108,580 prisoners released from prisons in 11 states in 1983, nearly 63 percent were re-arrested within three years, 47 percent were convicted of a new crime, and 41 percent were returned to prison or jail.
  • Among nearly 300,000 prisoners released in 15 states in 1994, 68 percent were re-arrested within three years, 47 percent were convicted of a new crime, and 25 percent were recommitted to prison with a new sentence.

http://www.ojp.gov/nij/topics/corrections/recidivism/welcome.htm

And the trend keeps going upward. Keeping in mind that Vick's case has extraordinary circunstance, I'm sure he has a special support group to help him deal with his situation and guide him trough life. But a guy who messed up when he was at the top of the world, then I would not be surprised if Vick trips now that he has hit rock bottom.
