Yeah comments like that are the reason why American sports in general are always ignorantly bashed on by everyone else in the world.I personally am doubtful that ignorance from Europe and America about opposing sports will ever change.
Having been to Japan and Europe, I can tell you that American Football is played much more than some random-ass soccer fan will tell you. It's simply on the Amateur/collegiate levels to the extent that rugby is enjoyed in the States. Not on the professional stage like here in the US.
