What NFL Team that didn't play well last year do you think will surprise people and play well this year?

I am going to choose the Seattle Seahawks (4-12 last year). They got the best player in the draft IMO in Aaron Curry. They got a great reciever in TJ Houshmandzadeh. The still got that BEAST at left tackle Walter Jones. They got some good Defensive players too in Patrick Kerney, Lofa Tatupu, and Deion Grant. I expect big things from this talented team.

I'd be surprised if Detroit wins 3, maybe 4 games this year.

Houston. I think they may finally break through and make the playoffs this year.

Tennesee wont be as good, neither will the Colts.

same. from what i hear they look pretty good at practice. I dont think Detroit will go 8-8. Im thinking Seattle is going to get a little better, Arizona will probably have a hang over. I think the Eagles are a team to watch this year, but I dont think thats a surprise. Maybe the Dolphins are a good surprise team?

I would'nt say Seattle is a surprise team. Just last year too many injuries and could not compete, they should rebound this season and dominate the NFC West.

One team I could say are the Houston texans.

I'm hoping it's the Jaguars. After a bad season last year hopefully they'll rebound and be at least a competitive team.

Dude i'm a die hard Jags fan too! I didn't pick them though because i think they are rebuilding and probably will have a 7-9 or 8-8 season.

Man i cannot believe they release Fred Taylor. But i heard the rookie running back Rashad Jennings has looked really good. We could have another one two combo at runningback.

everyone is saying that the team totally changed but it really didnt... yeah we lost dBrooks and garcia...but dunns loss is fine since we got a better RB out of Ward...gallowway was injured last year and ididnt do anything for the team and whatever QB is in the field...we are going to be a run first offense

I'd like to see Miami take the AFC East crown again and prove all the naysayers wrong, but of course that's because I'm a Fins fan. As far as other teams go, I'd like to see the Texans make a run.

Rashad Jennings has looked very good in training camp. The rookie recievers, especially Tiquan Underwood have looked good. Derek Cox has been looking great as well. So I have some good feelings about the draft class. The offensive line looks great now they're healthy. My main concern is the DT and S positions.

49ers. They finished 5-4 very, very close to 6-3 (remember that MNF game), and won 4 of there last 5 finished and I think Shaun Hill is a decent starting QB and if they can get Crabtree to play for them then it works out even better for them.

ya i completely agree with you. Safety and DT are my huge concerns too. Hopefully John Henderson will return to his dominating form. And so far in his career i have been disappointed in Reggie Nelson. Hopefully we can get Monroe signed and in there. Did you see there oklahoma drill. Well if you haven't heres the link to the vid http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rIrbAwbCMQ0&feature=channel_pageMan I can't wait for week 1 vs the colts.

Also remember that they finished 5-2 in their last 7 games. The two before were just Singletary getting his feet wet (first being a blowout loss to the Seahawks, second being the most embarassing primetime loss in Niners history).

I think the Dolphins will take a step back this season. They have to play a brutal 1st place schedule this year and they won't sneak up on anyone. Plus... I think teams won't be surprised by the Wildcat that much anymore. i think they go like 8-8 if they are lucky in a very tough Division where Brady and the Pats are back. I do agree with the Texans prediction though. They have a pretty easy schedule and an offense that can be pretty scary. I can see the Texans being around 10-6 and fighting for a playoff birth. If you play Fantasy Football you can't go wrong with Andre Johnson,Slaton, Schaub and even Owen Daniels. The AFC East is a very interesting Division. The Pats are the team to beat imo. T.Owens on the Bills maybe makes them dangerous now... and the Jets could turn into the Ravens of the Division with a big time Defense and a pretty potent running game. If Marc Sanchez can be the next J.Flacco and step it up as a rookie... the Jets may be a decent sleeper team. Should be a fun Division to keep an eye on.

I watched the Oklahoma Drill in person. I was in the stands watching with some of my friends. Reggie Nelson was great in his rookie season as a ball hawk, last year I was crazy angry at him.

I'd go with Houston and I think Baltimore, Arizona, Atlanta and Miami are going to prove that last year was no fluke.

I will have to go with:

  • 49ers
  • Jaguars
  • Redskins (Skins Fan)
  • Texans
  • Lions (they will win some games)
  • Saints

Except for the Lions, these teams have the potential to go to the playoffs and are no pushovers.

Not really a surprise team but I expect the Texans to make the playoffs this year. Just not at the expense of the Colts.:P Seriously though the Texans are so close to geting over the hump. If they dont have a slow start and Schaub stays healthy they can really sneak up on some teams this year. And Andre Johnson is a beast.

Oakland Raiders. Not saying they'll take the division or anything, but I expect them to be in the wild card race.

People will be surprised when NO take the NFC South and clinches a first round bye.

They will be equally surprised when TN barely breaks .500.

The Lions. Its only up from here compared to last season.

Plus, i dont think the Vikings or Packers will be any good in the North this year, so Detriot has a good shot at taking second

That's a big possiblity too. I don't get why he was a 3rd almost 4th round draft pick. His Junior season was a bit of a step down from his Sophmore but his skill was still pretty obvious

Totally agree. I think the Niners could make a run at the division crown for sure, especially if they can get Crabtree to sign! I don't want to jinx anything but in tonights game already, Vernon Davis has two catches for 41 yards! He was supposed to have a good season last year and that fell through so hopefully he picks it up this year!
