What do you mean by 2009? Does your team change year to year?geaux321You aren't the one that went crazy over bandwagon fans like a year back are you?.. Anyways, mines the SMU Mustangs.
Trojans. Fight On!waynehead895
The Trojans are my #2 team. Pete Carroll is a stud! My team though, is the BYU Cougars! Too bad they decided to quit running against Utah and turned the ball over and blew the game... Oh well. They are still my team!

I'm sorry but OU deserved to go to the big game, at least by what the tie-breaker stuff is based on. One item it is based on is what team would you least want to face right now, OU wins that easy. Another is who is the hottest team right now and OU wins that as well. And another one is who has the best chance of winning the National Championship and OU has that one locked up too right now. I'm not saying it's fair but OU is a very deserving team. And look on the bright side, at least UT gets to share the trophy and doesn't get it taken away since OU gets to go to the championship game!

HA! No way. Florida is going all the way. I just hope they expose the frauds for what they really are. And Texas had the toughest schedule from the two teams. 4 top 15 teams in 4 weeks. Against Tech they were down by double digits and came back to lead only to lose on a last second play. But what matters most is what they did head to head. UT beat OU on a NEURTAL field 45-35.What do you mean by 2009? Does your team change year to year?geaux321I assume he's talking about the video game.

Didn't think so. And they won't even get past Bama to play OU for the National Championship.

Give me a legitimate reason as to why OU deserves to go. I would bet that the SEC teams with the shot at the title would much rather play OU than us. Why? We play defense, OU does not. They just gave up 41 pts. to OSU on national tv. People are to blind that all they see is OUs strong offence. When OU plays a team that has good athletes on D who can play and match up with them, they will not win. That's why we beat them. Florida and Alabama are both capable of this. There is no bright sideto this. We are getting robbed and now have to watch a JV big 12 championship. We beat both teams. I don't understand how people can't see this. You have to perform on both sides of the ball. I know Texas defensive stats aren't the best, but in a very high scoring conference, we averaged giving up around 18 pts. We bend but don't break.
Also we would have a much better chance at winning a NC if we were in.OU can't win the big game. LSU beat them. USC slaughtered them. They lost to non bcs conference team in Boise State. To top it off, they lost to West Virginia last year who lost their coach before the game and I am pretty sure OU was heavily favored. OU can't win the big game and Stoops can't coach a big game. Say what you want, but you will never convince me otherwise.
Edit: We also have Muschamp who was D coordinator(a very good one at that) for Auburn in the SEC, so he is very familiar with how these teams play.

I already gave you the reasons as to why OU gets to go play but just from the underlined and bolded sentence, there is no point in trying to give you any reasons anyway because you are a self proclaimed homer. That's fine by me but you are just going to have to come to grips with the fact that your team doesn't get a shot at the "big game." Have fun dreaming about what "should" have been...

I am a homer and always will be when it comes to the Longhorns. You won't convince me, but I am always open for debate when people provide legitimate reasons as to why they deserve to be there besides the tiebreaker rules and because OU is a "hot" team. I provided a valid argument. What's OUs? There isn't one other than them scoring lots of points on weak defences in a conference that is dominated by great offences. Come up with some football reasons as to why they should be there, and not what the media is providing as to why they are there. I have somewhat come to grips with it, but even so, it's a shame what has happened.

The reasons I gave you to begin with are legit because they come from the criteria that the Big 12 uses for breaking up ties. I don't necessarily agree with how they break up ties but that's how they choose to do it. And I do think scoring a lot of points is a very good reason to have them play because teams that score are scary, especially when they score how OU has been. Oh, and I asked my buddy who is a HUGE Bama fan which team he would rather play in the National Championship, and he said Texas without hesitation because OU is the team that is most dangerous right now.
Oklahoma Sooners!!!! Dont worry Oklahoma Sooners guy to the rescue! Oklahoma had over 61 points in each of their last 4 games, they have the most average points!!! Oklahoma played 5 ranked teams, texas only played 4! Look at the point margins!!!!! Texas +4 Texas Tech -38 OKLAHOMA +34!!!!! By the WAy we at least beat Oklahoma State by 20, you only beat them by 4 points! Oklahoma has gotten over 35 points a game! 10 games we got 45 or over!2 games we got 35 one was a loss! A loss with 35 points, wow!! We dont have defense, Yes we do texas tech only got 21 points on us they got 39 on you so i dont kjnow what the hell you are talking about when you said we dont have defense! The team that was closets to beating oklahoma was Kansas, and guess what , a point margin of 14! 2 TDS! Look THE BCS DECIDED OKLAHOMA IS NUMBER 2 THat IS BETER THAN NUMBER 3!Awesome-o-4000
You beat OSU by 20pts, but one TD came in garbage time and they put up 41 pts. Mark my word, quote me or whatever, when OU meets whichever SEC team it will be, they will get exposed on D and lose. OU allows 25 pts a game, we allow 18 pts a game. Kansas only scored 9 pts against us in Kansas. The only reason OU wins games in the Big 12 is because there is only one team in the Big 12 with a good defense that has good athletes...TEXAS. All the other teams can't play D, thus allowing OU to put up big offensive #s. They play us, they lose by 10 pts. Scrub teams like Texas A&M put up 28 pts and Kansas put up 31 against OU. You held Tech to 21 pts at home. They put up 39 pts. true, but they did it to us in Lubbock in front of a charged home crowd much like when ya'll beat them. From the way you write, it's obvious you are a Sooner fan, dumb imbred just like the rest of the gooners. A loss on neutral a field is worse than a loss in an away game that came on the very last play by an amzing catch by a player who's roomate just got arrested by the DEA for selling coke. Too bad for Crabtree.
OU scores so many points because they leave their starters in and throw bombs downfield after the game is well in hand during the fourth quarter. Yeah, that's right. I'm sayin it, THEY RUN UP THE SCORE! Bob Stoops is one of the, if not the, worst I've seen when it comes to that in a looooong time.sith_acolyte15
Very true! OU has been a dirty program since the 70s. Some things never change. Mack on the other hand puts in our backups and young players because they work hard in practice and deserve some playing time.

Yeah, and that shows that Bob Stoops is smarter than Mack Brown because he knows it's all about style points and winning big (sadly, because it shouldn't be this way). Look at Florida, Meyer does the same thing so his teams blow out the competition making them look like a better team.

Bob Stoops is not on Mack Brown's level. Also by playing our backups and young players, they are gaining experience that will serve them well for the future. It's smart on Mack's part because it's keeps them eager and ready. That's why we have a 8 year 10 win season streak going.

I totally agree with that and it is better in the long term, but as of right now, it didn't work out in the short term. I mean, it's kind of like saying, there's always next year... And that's true, but who knows what next year will bring.

Yeah, it really is too bad that it has to be like this since Texas did beat them earlier and on a neutral field no less. But yeah, I'm sure Texas will win 10 next season because Mack Brown knows his stuff. I just hope this type of thing doesn't happen next year... that would be horrible!
