Who do you think will win the stanley cup?

I live in the Detroit and I think the Red Wings are going to repeat.

I do also believe that the Sharks will choke like they do every year no matter how unstoppable they have looked.

For the one who said the Blackhawks are a long shot... I think the Blackhawks will make noise in the playoffs because the playoffs are almost a crap-shoot in that once you get in, it really can be anyone's chance to win it all and upset anyone at all.

Maybe if this "old" team hadn't stomped on, pretty much, everyone in last year's playoffs, that criticism might have some merit.

They definitly wont win this year but they have greatly imporved compared to past seasons. Maybe they can get some good players for Bouwmeester.

A) Detroit is in the same division as Chicago, Nashville, Columbus, and St. Louis. Not a lot of competition over the last few years. Nashville had a couple of good seasons and chicago is getting strong again, but with schedules making teams teams in divisions face each other the most, Detroit was pretty much garunteed home ice and a weak first round opponent.

B) last year, they played against Nashville (8th place), Colorado (6th place and tired) and Dallas (5th place and tired).

C) yes they are old, and age will catch up to them. just watch.

Nothing would be better, I think, for the league, than the Cup going to Montreal for the 25th time for their 100th season.

It's a long way. But they have at least one huge advantage in their favor : history (fanbase too, probably the wildest in the NHL).

oups sorry misread, i thought you meant in the series. But a game habs vs. detroit would rock, just like the EA simulation except the habs would win :P
