Well Doc is on the cutting board-- again. But this time it looks like he'll be packing his bags and going to a compettitive team. Where will he land?

Call me biased but my first bet is the Yankees. If not then it will be the Red Sox. These are both teams with large resources and lots of dollar signs. Possibly the only two teams willing, or even capable of paying Halladay the money he'll be asking for after the 2010 season. Each side knows that if Halladay puts on the wrong uniform it could spell potnetial doom. If the Yankees let the Red Sox obtain Roy Halladay then they're letting the Red Sox even the playing field in the AL East. And for the Red Sox, they'd face a likely more grim fate as the Yankees are already the reining World Champions, so Doc in pinstripes could spell repeat, or even dynasty. The stakes are high on this one.

Dodgers definitely should. They're starting pitching didn't look so hot vs the Phillies. I think he would help in a big way.

I don't want the Yanks to spend the prospects/players to get him, his is 33 and I'm comfortable enough to stay put and let Hughes and Joba develop. The flip side is that I absolutely don't the Red Sox to get him. So I don't care if he goes to the Angles, Phillies, Mets or whatever; just not the Red Sox.

I want Halladay on the Yankees so bad. My offer would be Phil Hughes, Jesus Montero, and if it helped at all I'd throw in a 3rd round pick for 2011. Jesus Montero would be the jewel of the trade from the Yankees, but my reasoning for coughing him up is that I think Joe Mauer wouldn't mind being baseballs highest paid catcher. That's of course a big assumption, but I really can't see Mauer not cashing in big time at the peak of his career.

Dodgers will give it a go. I think the Red Sox will as well. Don't think they won't, because if you need a guy to compete with C.C, Roy is that guy.

That's just not possible. The only player you listed that is extremely unlikely to be traded is Cano. The rest are fair game for Halladay. With Halladay in the Yankees rotation I can virtually guarantee a repeat. Especially is Damon and Pettitte are resigned. To be totally honest I believe Halladay is the key to the next Yankees dynasty happening anytime soon.

I hope the Phillies get him. With Halladay and Cliff Lee in the rotation were basically guaranteed another World Series berth.

Being a huge Jays fan and especially a Halladay fan, I think he will go to either the Angels, Yankees, or Red Sox. While trading within the division wouldn't be ruled out, the Yankees and Red Sox WOULD have to give up more though, plus Philly wouldn't give up what the Jays wanted last time, why would they now?

If any team does the "sign the extension, then trade for him" they have to give up more since there getting him for more than a year. Right now, Angels have the most interest, as I believe they HAVE tabled an offer...either Weaver, Santana or Saunders, Brandon Wood and the Jays want Erick Aybar, but the Angels not giving him up is what stopped it at the trade deadline, but they might now since it's free agency. Plus, you can't trade draft picks, so an outfield prospect or another pitching prospect (like, their best one) would be thrown in. All that for the rights to Halladay plus the extension between 2 and 4 years.

Don't forget, he has a no-movement deal, so he can say no and maybe stay in Toronto;)...I doubt it though:cry:

Halladay will never go to a National League team as he hates batting. Being a blue jays fan for over 10 years, I can tell you he does not want to go to a National league team. I'd have to say the sox, yankees or LAA.

Yay, another Jays fan:D

And ya, no NL team for him. He like finishing what he started, and in the NL...well, he could be pulled early for hitting. He doesn't like that:P

I didn't know you couldn't offer draft picks for a player. In that case I'm sure a very young minor league talent would have to be the "throw in" part of the deal.

i say YANKEES we really only have 3 good starting pitchers, 4 is supposed to be chamberlain but hes not pitching good and 5 is a rookie so we definately need 1 more good starting pitcher. The yankees have the money to get him so its really possible. i would prefer getting Tim lincecum though the yanks would have to trade for him though and the giants could use some good players.

That's so true, I didn't even look at it like that. I don't really care who he goes to, as long as the Jays get young, solid prospects, I'm happy. Now that JP is finally gone, we can rebuild!

I didn't think JP was HORRIBLE like people make him seem. He did draft Lind, Hill, Snider, Romero, Cecil, Rzepcnski, he signed Scutaro, Rolen, and Barajas, and even though they weren't there long, they were productive. Plus he signed Halladay to all the extensions, and Hill to an extension.

But there was a lot of bad. Trowing Roy under the bus at the deadline, Wells' and Rios' contracts (getting rid of him was good though) and Burnett, Frank Thomas, plus last years draft they didn't sign there 2nd, 3rd, and 4th picks.

He wasn't horrible, but sure wasn't great. Anthopolos has done good so far. Shame to see Scutaro go, but after that injury, and his age, plus it could have been the only great year he had, you could see it coming. He has been trying to trade Wells and Overbay though:D

Not so simple unfortunately. If he lands with the Red Sox they can pay him the money he wants during their exclusive negotiating period.

Ya, I saw that. My friend actually told he me it was a report that he WAS traded, and didn't believe it:P

I still think there is 3 teams in the mix: LAA, NY and Boston.
