I think it'll be Argentina, even though I don't have much confidence in them either. Brazil just isn't showing much quality lately. Could easily be the U.S. or Mexico if they get a few good breaks at the right time, but I'm not sold on either of them.

It is a wild card race but I can tell you that it isn't going to be the U.S. or Mexico. Argentina is probably the strongest team going into the tourney

Im going for Mexico, despite the loss against the lucky team of USA,they have to get agressive and come out on top on Copa America,my second pick is argentina because they actually have all their stars present, unlike Brazil...

Clearly Brazil or Argnentina, even if their star players don't show up.

Argentina is going with all its stars so they should be able to win it; theUSA won't have Donovan, Bocanegraand Beasley so there goes its chance to have a shot at it.

We took you to the limit though, and had to win on a LUCKY volley shot.

I say it's either Argentina/Brazil/Mexico.

The USA isn't going in with all their starters, so i doubt they have a chance.

Okay i've been trying to keep my mouth shut about mexican fans but c'mon some of you guys are freaking delusional if you think you have a chance at winning Copa America and no You didn't play better than the U.S. on Sunday and head to head statistics show for a fact that you guys aren't better than the U.S. Why don't you rebuilding your team instead of sucking on teh tailpipes of past glories. The U.S. was crap in 2006 but they are rebuilding and looking much stronger this year than last. The same can't be said of mexico.

i think mexico has a shot to do pretty well. they always seem to try harder in copa america than the gold cup, and a lot of the south american powers don't take the tournament that seriously.

This is exactly what numismatic said. Maxicans fans are holding on to their past glories. Mexico may still hold a better overall record and will probably will for a long time, but latly the US been beating the Mexicans more often since 1999 (6-2-1) and the US rank higher on the FIFA ranking right now. I respect your passion for your team, cause I'll also believe in my team to win any compatition they play too.

The Copa America will all come down to either Argentina or Brazil.

Hmmm i respect your passion for your team as well,as for ranking higher than Mexico i doubt it but ill see,but what most fans dont know is that the past games have been here in US soil, those numbers of loses are mostly pertaining to the games played in US soil, while if they played in Mexico that would be another story...

The U.S. is the better team, look at the recent records between the two. As for who is sad delusional fans between the US and Mexico.... sorry, but on here that title resides with Mexico. When I picked Portugal to beat Mexico during the WC, I got several PMs telling me I'm a blind Portuguese fan and just wait till they play and prepare for ownage. That made it personal, so I just waited, kind of pissed off. And then I found out that Portugal was not starting 5 players (including Ronaldo, Deco, Simao, etc) and that worried me. And then we won, and guess what? I receive dozens of PMs bashing me for my pickand got all these excuses about how much better Mexico is than Portugal and if they had scored on their "many" chances, that we would have been crushed. Sound familiar? I don't really have a problem with you guys at all and I'm sure not all Mexican fans are like that (I have a couple of Mexican friends), but from my experiences Mexicans are a bit more delusional, at least on here, than American fans.... though that may have to do with the fact that there are more Mexican soccer fans on here than American.

Venezuela?

Please.

They'll be out in the 2nd round.

Again, I say Argentina/Brazil/Mexico/USA, in that order.

Brazil isn't at full strength, as well as Mexico and the USA.

How so?

We've reached the final twice, and gotten 3rd place twice as well.

We've defeated Argentina and Brazil many times in the recent years.

Our achilles heel may vary well be the USA again, despite having a depleated team.

Sorry, men, but Mexico's chances don't make it only relying in Cuauhtemoc, and USA chances died when Bob Bradley announce that Donovan, Bocanegra and DaMarcus won't go to Venezuela.

Good arguement but thats onlya portion of mexican fans as well as any other fans, theres delusional fans everywere believe or not,but Americans bashing and not getting the statosto s right make it unfair, true that we cant win on US soil, true that you guys cant win on mexican soil, true that mostly all friendlies between mexico and USA are here in the US,but there will always be delusional fans on all sides,so just dont make reference of only mexico,as far as portugal defeating mexico at the WC congrats they deserved to win, they played better, but anywho thats your experience,my experience is different if you know were im coming from.....

its not the same Brazil as WC 2006... some familair names will be left out... and Dunga is a prick he feels he needs to prove something buy "doing what he wants" by not listening to the media when really all he is doing is what he doesnt want to do.. but feel he needs to do to show some sort of "i'm the boss here" mentality...

its ok to leave out familiar names in order to build a cohesive unit.. but after watching him sit ronaldinho and kaka on the sidelines in that 0-0 draw with turkey.. i think he has and ant nibbling away at his ass or something with statements like "people swore up and down i wasnt gonna sit ronaldinho or kaka, and i did it anyway.. i didn like the pace i needed to change the unit" WRONG.. you are just trying to prove yourself to.. well. who ever you are trying to prove urself too... he's not gonna help brazil.. i dont think he'll be coaching come WC.. but who knows

with that off my chest... i'm going with Argentina

Im just rooting against Argentina for many reasons  As far as the home team, they will qualify to the 1st round but then get blasted by whoever they face. The home team usually does good but Venezuela will probally fall early.

I was in that game (because i live in Puerto Ordaz, the city where the game was played). It was a great game, but the Chile vs Ecuador was more exciting

I love the Way Argentina plays, They pass the ball well and mke the opposition chase their own shadows. There is no immediate sense of urgency in their play but that is only an illusion, They can explode whenever they are near the box and the next thing you know they've gone up a goal. The U.S. has no chance.

this blows. the US-Argentina match isn't on any english-speaking channel here, so i have to watch it on the spanish channel. this is why US soccer is considered small time.

goddamn we suck.Johnson sucks, the u.s. has very potent counter attack potentials but johnson always stops the ball instead of punishing them with ihs speed. Why does he always stop his runs.

eddie johnshon is wasting his talents. Why is he so afraid to run at defenders. When he did it the first time he caused the Argentinian defenders to lose their cool and gifted him with a penalty. There was a very good pass to him in the second half and had he run at the defenders he would have burned them and give abondezzari a good scare. Yet as sson as he got the ball he sped up and came to a complete stop allowing the slow defenders to take the ball away from him. America's performance last night was woeful, they need to work on their passing game and not run at every loose ball and every shadow of the opposing player. Argentina didn't turn on the pain until the last thirty minutes after they've allowed the U.S. to run themsleves stupid. Again I have no illusions that the u.s. was going to perform well or even win it at this tournament, it is just so frustrating to see that they are no better than my saturday evening pickup games.

5 times "lucky" right? The gold cup final should been at least 4 to 1. Just off the wiffs of Ching and Beasley. Mexico will not win the Copa America. Mexico could beat the US this time around though since we are missing Donovan, Beasley, Mastreroni(sp), Onyewu, Bocanergra, Dempsey. Six starters missing. Yep they have a chance.

Sorry, dude! But Mexico is lost!!! Is the end of the Sanchez Era, Maybe Brasil or argentina vs Venezuela, but not Mexico, they will not make it!!!!

Venezuela?

Please.

They'll be out in the 2nd round.

Again, I say Argentina/Brazil/Mexico/USA, in that order.

Brazil isn't at full strength, as well as Mexico and the USA.

I'm from Venezuela and Venezuela will lose! I'm sure of it, They suck! and I'mNOT proud of them!

America's performance last night was woeful, they need to work on their passing game and not run at every loose ball and every shadow of the opposing player. Argentina didn't turn on the pain until the last thirty minutes after they've allowed the U.S. to run themsleves stupid. Again I have no illusions that the u.s. was going to perform well or even win it at this tournament, it is just so frustrating to see that they are no better than my saturday evening pickup games. numismatic

I wouldn't be too hard on the U.S team, Argentina had its best players on the field, most of their players are on Elite Europeans teams pretty much the best soccer teams in the world. I was quite surprised at how well the US defended during the first half, as for the passing game forget about it, even with all its starters the US won't be able to control the ball 50/50 with this Argentina team, it will have beenmuch closer in the final score though.

[QUOTE="Espurs117"]LOL that was a pathetic showing by the US. Im sure they will play better next game.geaux321

What do you expect when you don't have your best players.

I expected a loss not a blowout. You know Mexico didnt have their players either...but I hear no one say that.

The only person I know who was missing for the Mexicans was Borgetti. Who else were they missing? The US was missing 6 key starters. Donovan, Onyewu, Bocanegra, Beasley, Dempsey, and Mastroeni. I can't believe Bradley sent them away. It was reported they didn't request to be released. Do y'all remember all the crap Lallas caught over hinting Beckham might not be released to play for the England nation team during the MLS season?
