Lets say your favorite NFL team had the #1 overall pick in the upcoming draft, and you got to make the call on who to draft. Who'd you take and why?

TEAM: New Orleans Saints

DRAFT: Calvin Johnson / Georgia Tech

REASON: We just released Joe Horn, and adding a WR like Johnson to an already good and young duo (Henderson/Colston) would give us a wicked receiving team for the coming decade. Brees is only 28, not to mention I think this crop of QBs is very poor. I don't see Russell or Quinn doing much of anything in the NFL, and Stanton will be injured too much.. Adrian Peterson would be a nice addition to most any team, as long as that team doesn't already have Reggie Bush.

I guess you haven't seen much of Maroney play? The guy has show flashes of being great but I agree that we do need someone to share the load like a TJ Duckett.  Still if the Pats had the first pick they would have to choose Johnson its a no brainer.

I'll admit I'm a little anti-Minnesota, but I still don't think he's that good.

But as a Broncos fan you'd only see him play for a year or two before Denver's OCD kicks in and you trade him away like you do with all your other running backs. Nothing wrong with being consistent, I guess.

yeah, especially when you can plug anyone in back there and get 1,000 yards. or have 2 backs with 1,000 like they did 2 years ago.

and could you remind me who they traded some of those backs for? i'll give you a hint. one is the best cornerback in the nfl and the other one is in the top 5.

San Diego Chargers Pick: Calvin Johnson Reason: The only way this team could get better is by improving the receiving core. That's their only weak spot.

Dre Bly? In the top 5? No way but I'd put him in the top 10.

I have no clue:? The Seahawks need a TE, but picking a TE with the first overall pick would be dumb(unless the guy is the next Tony Gonzales or Antonio Gates:P)

As well as a good safety, but I rather take care of that with free agency.
