there is too much evidence on clemens. and y would mc namee lie to feds? if he lied to feds he would be doing to prison. and mc namee is going to prison anyways for illegal drug dealing.but clemens is guilty. how many players we heard saying they never used illegal performance enhacing drugs and they still ge busted? a lot of great baseball players.. so i heard the whole hearing. clemens should just give up like pettite. they'll forget about pettitte, but clemens looks like he has no more tank left on this fight...

I want to believe Clemens, but McNamee & Pettite have a strong case and DNA evidence to boot.

McNamee. Clemens needs to cut his losses and admit to using HGH/Steriods rather than continuing this circus.

I don't believe Roger one bit, the sad part is that I think Roger believes his own lies.

The minute Clemens confesses, federal prosecutors will be jumping forward to nail him for perjury.

I believe they need to get both of these guys off Television, it was alright when it first happened, now it's just annoying. You can't even turn on ESPN without hearing about both of these people, so what if he (Roger) did steroids no one cares anymore.

Well obviously he would have to make some sort of deal with procecutors, something along the lines of he confesses, saves the system all kinds of money and time, and in exchange gets x months probation rather than jail time. I don't think anyone wants to see either McNamee or Clemens go to jail regardless of who's right, so I'm sure the procecutors would be lenient on Clemens should he confess.

What's the problem with taking HGH/steroids anyways? Why is it illegal?

"How do you say three times in your deposition that you never did speak to [Brian] McNamee about steroids and later on acknowledge that, in fact, you had?" And Clemens would bounce this back on one hop... "It was prior."

"What was prior? You contradicted your own deposition."

"It was before that."

"What was before? First you said you didn't, then you admitted you did."

"Not the way you mean it."

I don't believe the guy who had that conversation.

I think we should burn them both. If there witches they'll fly away. So then we'll know who was telling the truth.

After his performance in front of congress local sports writer here remembered / wrote about what another writer once told him about Clemens:

"If Clemens had not once been able to consistently throw a baseball 95 miles per hour past men with bats in their hands, he would be wearing bib overalls and sitting on a milk crate at the open end of a trailer somewhere, brushing his tooth, while shooing away flies from his head"

At first i thought if he would come out and defend himself really strong that he probably didn't do it. Then i learn more about the guy and see him clawing for something, it seems like he really is a liar. Like they said, back when he tossed the broken bat at Piazza he pretended like he didn't, seems like an ***hat who is good at hiding it.

I don't think that either of them is completely credible, but I believe more of what McNamee says. I'm having a really hard time believing that Roger did not use steroids. Roger's increase in size from his younger days and his ability to improve with age are comparable to the experiences of Barry Bonds.

Ah, these types of fiascos are forever staining the truly great history of MLB. I hate to say it, but I don't want to know anymore. I think that MLB should just sweep this under the rug and focus on the future. It's just so unfortunate that a new season of America's pastime is just around the corner, and all of the discussion revolves around issues that happened 5-10 years ago.

Last 5-10? Try last 1-15 and possibly longer than that.

Yup, it hurts because baseball is Americas most romanticized sport, but i say it's just a reflection of how our culture is also decaying.

You probably mean it metaphorically, but I don't think everyone does it. Some people still have enough self pride to not do it.

Then you really don't know much about baseball if you think everyone did it.
