Are you serious? The answer is obviously Peterson. Tomlinson has lost it

Peterson... Though Tomlinson is still pretty damn good. Dude rushed for 1110 yards and 11 TDs and got hated all over...

Even as a Chargers fan I gotta say Peterson is better now. Although it's doubtful that he'll keep it up for eights years like LT did.

AP obviously but I doubt he will have the same career as LT, AP won't run this hard for long.

AP is miles ahead of anybody, and you can say that LT is slipping, but he's still a damn good running back. 1100 yards and over 10 TD's and people dumped on him all off season. Phenomenal player.

Yeah sure. AP is the same guy who got hurt while diving into the endzone at OU.

Your point? What does it have to do with durability? Not like we haven't seen guys tear it up for a few years. Terell Davis comes to mind. Marshall Faulk too. Jamal Lewis had 2000 yards in a season not too long ago.

Peterson is better now but LT in his prime would run circles around Peterson.

True but Adrian Peterson will be like this for about 90% of his career IMO. If you don't like him then fine, we're all entitled to our own opinion. I'm not here to argue but I think AP is the best RB in the NFL. Please respect my opinion just like I respect yours.

AP is the most skilled....but the over all better running back? is LT even though he doesnt put up the same stats....AP lost 9 fumbles last year....im sorry but that is way to many turnovers to be giving up as a running back.....so until AP gets the fundementals of the game down......LT>>>>>>>AP.......period.

I have nothign against AP, he got owned vs Texas so I don't care :P Im just saying he has durability issues. He couldn't stay healthy in college I doubt he can do it in the NFL for long. I too think he is the best RB in the NFL right now, im just questioning for how long.

Peterson's career will not surpass LT's. LT was just incredible and he's still a top running back. Peterson won't have the same durability and longevity. But, to be fair, he did get his leg clipped by someone from Iowa State before the flip.

oh ok, but since I'm a homegrown Vikings fan, I hope he can stay healthy as long as possible.

At the moment Adrian Peterson is the better back in the NFL. However, LT will be remembered better for his career in the end.

Peterson is the IT running back that LT was during his prime years. LT is now on the other side of his prime, but still productive. AP is just getting started.

AP even though LT is still solid. I hope AP can last but who knows especially with how injury prone he was at OU. I hope he stays healthy though because he is a stud!

Today, right now, AP... but LT is more proven and his career numbers are really good. AP has a ways to go before he is better then LT but its hard to compare these two, LT was the man while AP was still in college.

AP was the man in college, he dominated as a true freshman and then got hurt.

Based on last season, Peterson's better. I hope LT will get somewhat back to hiis best, like he was a couple of years ago. However, Peterson is still early on in his career, and should have a very successful one. LT can be argued to have been one of the best running backs in NFL history alongside Payton, Faulk, Sanders, etc.

You can't be the best relying only on speed (im lookin at you too, Hester)

So Peterson is obviously the better of the two.

I have to admit that Peterson is the better of them both. To me it looks like Tomlinson has lost it, guy is not playing like how he use to.
