There was no punishment for his acts at the time they were committed. Though some might think being chastised by the commissioner and being accused of "shaming the game" is punishment enough.AlexSays
Not really...I'm pretty sure everyone knows at this point that Bud Selig is a joke. Acting like he didn't have a clue anything was going on all this time and now, in 2009 (which is at least 20 years after the widespread use of steroids started in baseball), he says A-Rod "shamed the game"? Bud Selig shamed the game more than anyone else.

Selig and Fuhr let this whole situation get wild and then tried to sweep it under the rug. All that matters to them is the fact that money is still being made. They know they had a chance to stop it, but they did nothing until it was to late. Also, lets not forget that he was apart of a MLB drug test in 2003. The MLB has known about this all along. Now they want to "throw players under the bus" and act as if their hands weren't dirty. Selig is a Hypocrite and A-Rod is a cheat.jami013Is it really cheating when such a large number of people are doing it? Sounds like A-Rod was just fitting into the curve.
That particular test was supposed to be completely anonymous and without punishment. It was just a measuring stick to allow the MLB to evaluate the situation and come up with a plan of action. If they punish Rodriguez, they have to release the names and punish the other 100+ people that tested positive.wallymartinThis is the correct answer.
My question is who leaked out the results to the media in what was supposed to be anonymous. And I do not like the fact that its one more thing Canseco was actually right about.

That's why I said "some".
Some respect him and many don't. Those that still do are likely to think his heavy criticism was a form of punishment.
1.) Because of when it happened, about 6 years ago.
2.) If you are going to punish him then you have to punish the rest of the guys that were on that list that he was part of.
Really in my opinion who cares? The guy got caught its time to move on. What does it matter now if he gets punished, he is going to get scrutinized anyways from the public and anything that he accomplishes in his career will be in question and will be null and void by most.
I'm too busy wondering who the other 103 names are............one guy on MLB made a good point, he said Red Sox fans shouldn't get on him too much because some of their players might be on that list and their 04 WS might be "tainted".X360PS3AMD05I do agree with you that Red Sox fans should be careful what they say because who knows what else can come of that list, but I will not agree with the '04 WS could be tainted. I understand that Papi was a huge reason to that championship, but without the pitching they don't make it. If a couple of guys get smacked with postivie results from that year, you can't take a team achievement away because of a couple of individuals.
A-Rod's punishment is his legacy. Hopefully now, the majority of people understand that he lacks intelligence and is basically a follower not a leader. He goes and does what his handlers tell him too, why, not because he may question their judgement or have the sack to follow his own morals if any, but because he's just plain stupid. His explanation of his so called cousin putting a needle in his backside is only more proof of how much of a fool this guy is. However, the dude can rake, and nobody can deny that! Unfortunately, he has one thing right (beside being unbelievably talented at baseball), he will be answering his roid questions for the rest of his career and beyond.DCGixxer22I wouldnt mind doing all that while making 230 milli
