Because we get tired of fans who say "the SEC is overrated" all the time. Or fans who say "The SEC is having a down year" every year. Also, we got tired of the media telling us the Big 10 was the best conference for many years when we knew better. The national media is based in the Northeast and is often biased. Not all of us are arrogant. Some of us just like that we root for a team in the top conference and will not hestitate to correct people who are in denial about that.

As a lover of college football who lives in jax fl i have come to despise SEC football fans. They act like there conference is the only conference in college football. Do they realize prior to 1990's the only dominate team in the leauge and nation wide was Alabama. Florida had never won a sec title prior to the 1990s. LSU had 1 title in i belive 1954. Yes they have been dominate of late but it goes in cycles. A Big 12 team has won 2 nat titles in this decade and OU has played in the title game 4 times. Nebraska was in the 2001 title game as well. Texas Beat USC but it seems the perception is the SEC is the best. The Big 12 can make just as strong of a case. Im a Ohio State fan and we have one 1 nat title, been to 3 title games, and 6 BSC bowl games. In 2006 Michigan was one win away for playing for the national championship but OSU beat them. Plus the SEC Hardly ever goes outside of the conference to play good teams. And they never remeber games they lost. Nebraska smoked UF in the 96 game(yes i know Uf Smoked us) Michigan has beaten UF twice this decade in bowl games. USC trounced Ark and Auburn at both of there houses. Tenn got thrashed at CAL and lost to UCLA. Iowa beat LSU when they had jamarus russell in the outback bowl. Ok enough from me what r ur thoughts . cmdkndDid you honestly use OSU in this argument haha they cannot win in the BCS , The SEC is the best conference in all of college football. Deal with it.
...and just for the heck of it, BCS Championship Game win-loss records by conference:
Im a Canadian and I agree that the SEC is clearly the superior conference, thats says something lol.
They do win a lot and now with the financial advantage that ESPN has given them they will win a whole lot more.
USC should have played Ohio State in the 2008 BCS championship, but the media liked the story of LSU playing for a championship in a restored Superdome, and of course as Les Miles pointed out, they were unbeaten in regulation. What a joke.
SEC is top to bottom the best conference is College Football. There are very few easy games to be played in the SEC.
Hows that possible when 2 of the top 3 teams in the conference lost there bowl games to SEC teams? and Texas BARELY beat OSU. Missouri they best NORTHWESTER by 7 lol. How would they match up with Georgia, LSU, Florida? lol didnt think so. and Oklahoma state? Lost there bowl to. How would they match up with Florida, LSU, Georgia, Ole Miss? lol didnt think so.I think they are neck-and-neck with the Big 12.

because I can be j/k:D
seriously, I think the SEC is usually more solid from top to bottom. Now, if you are comparing the cream of the crop from each conference. Ooooo, not so sure that the SEC is tops.
Well really the top is the best to. Florida, LSU, Georgia right now. Better then 3 from the big 12 last year that was Oklahoma, Texas, and Texas Tech. I would say that USC is right there with the top of the SEC and if not better. Top of the SEC is better then the Big ten, Pac ten, and ACC.because I can be j/k:D

year after year after year, the top teams from the BIG conferences can be shuffled around. This year i'm not sure the SEC is that much better than anyone else. The SEC has a lot to prove this year. BTW, i'm a SEC fan for the record.

Big 12 is the real overrated conference.
Beraly beat OSU? Like they are an easy team to beat? Are you serious? Ohio State had a very good team, and they will be a top 5 team again this year. Just because they lost to LSU and Florida you guys bring them down to Notre Dame style. OU has gotten owned 5 straight times in BCS games and lost to Boise and got destroyed by WVU yet you guys continue to suck them off year after year.Ohio State a top 5 team? lmao NO! They were not better then Penn State. So that makes them 2nd in there own conference. They are not better then Florida, LSU,Georgia and Alabamaand I dont know if they are better then Ole Miss. Not better then Texas, or Oklahoma. Ohh yeah and USC lol So top 5 last year? No. Top 5 this year? No.
And to the guy that said the SEC has a lot to prove. No they dont. Florida, LSU, and Alabama will be good again this year. Ole Miss had a chance to be real good this year will all the talent back. then teams like Georgia, Tennesee, Kentucky, are there to. When SEC teams start losing there big bowl games thats when they will have something to prove.
Good god I can't wait for college football season to start. The SEC believes they are the best conference in football and they don't mind saying so. That's not arrogant if the results back the claim up, or at least a legitimate argument can be made that the results back it up. In other news, I SO want a national playoff.nocoolnamejim
like 2% of america wants to keep it the way it is :x
unfortunately, that 2% is comprised of the NCAA committee :?
A few years ago, ESPN came up with a very, very good way of having a 8 or 16 team playoff by using some of the existing bowls as quarterfinals, semifinals, and the finals; BRILLIANT IDEA!
USC should be in the SEC. The Pac 10 isn't bad tho. They did go 5-0 in their Bowl games last year. How UCLA beat Tenn with a 3rd string QB will never make sense to me. They practically play football with Basketball players. (KJoking)waynehead895
Tennessee is the kiss of death. Pickem to win, and they lose. Pickem to lose, and they win.

They've got an interesting article up now about reducing the FBS to a rotating 40 team league with four power conferences and a true playoff system where the worst five teams drop out at the end of every year and the top 5 from outside get promoted.Ohio State a top 5 team? lmao NO! Ohio State is better than Ole Miss, don't kid yourself. They are a good team, but come on. LSU will be better, hard not to be after the season they had last year, Georgia will have a worse team and so will Bama.
I would say that Alabama has a lot to prove then. All the wins they piled up didn't mean a thing when they lost their two biggest games (by over ten points each) to end the season. When SEC teams start losing there big bowl games thats when they will have something to prove.

I didn't say last year. I said year after year they are top 5. Penn State really? lol cmon now. If OSU would play OU in a BCS game OSU would destroy.

Georgia returns like 10 players from injury, including almost the entire OL and DL. Stafford and Moreno are gone, but they don't make up the entire team, so don't listen to "experts" like Mark May that have said Georgia is ready to fall apart. 2005 Georgia supposedly had no talent going into the season either. You try telling them their win against Auburn didn't mean anything. That hurts to say.geaux321
Because we are in the cycle where it's the SEC's turn, every major college conference has enjoyed it. 60/70's enjoy the Big-ten/Pac-10 dominance (Really it was the OSU/Michigan/USC dominance). or the 90's were the Big12/ACC dominated, the Big Ten enjoyed some good sucesss between 97-2005 as well. Now 2003-present it's all SEC.
