Here comes the "everybody hates winners" comments.
I'll say a couple:
1) It'd be hilarious if they lose.
2) Bill Bellichick.
3) The fans. Most are okay, but some are arrogant, annoying and particularly loud so they stand out over the majority.
4) They tried to cheat.
5) Bill Bellichick.
6) This is a minor one and it's only for me: Their insistance on trying to look like the underdog in every game they play. Last year it annoyed me to hell.
7) Again only for me: I'm a Colts fan, and a Manning fan.
Reasons for hating the Patriots:
1. Arrogance
2. Cheaters
3. Official Assistance - I have never seen a team get away with as many blatant penalties, especially holding, as the Patriots do.
4. Bill Bellichick - also see Arrogance
5. Tom Brady - You know, when he first became the starter, I actually was happy for him, but he is, to me, becoming just as arrogant as his teammates.
6. Tedy Bruschi
7. Richard Seymour
8. I am a Dolphins fan and have a vested interest in them being the only undefeated team. Since the Patriots completed the regular season undefeated, I have to look for them to lose in the postseason.
Reasons that the Patriots aren't so bad:
1. Rodney Harrison - He does not come off as being arrogant, unlike most of his teammates.
2. Wes Welker - The Miami Dolphins hurt themselves by trading him in division. I knew last year that Wes Welker was poised to succeed in the NFL. He also doesn't strike me as being arrogant.
what cheating? monkeytoes61they video taped another teams signals during the game or if you want to be ceral about it they tried to cheat because im not 100% sure if they did watch it but its still a pretty pathetic and low thing to do because one its wrong and two they probaly would probaly of kept doing it

Ok, I can give you a few of those, but:
1. I can give you that the fans are arrogant, but the players and team, I cannot.
2. I think "hating" a team because of that goes too far if you ask me, but hey, I am a bit biased after all. If Green Bay cheated I wouldn't "hate" them, even if they were undefeated.
3. The refs do not favor the Patriots....
4. I can give you this one.
5. What is Brady doing to become arrogant? Once again, maybe the pro-Pats media around here is blinding me of this, but I don't see him bashing the Jags for the game this Saturday. Arrogance to me implies something like a "guarantee."
6. Why do you hate him? He came back from a stroke, pretty amazing if you ask me.
7. Why?
8. Divisional rivals, I can give you that.
Not So Bad:
1. If you asked me, i'd say Harrison was one of the most arrogant players on the team...
2. Wes Welker is pretty cool. He is a terrible actor though... (local commercials)

They did do it in game one against the Jets, and the NFL got the tape. Then the Pats were punished:
$250k fine on the Pats
$500k on Belicheck
No 1st round draft pick
The Patriots never got to watch the tape, Jets security took it away.

Do you live in a cave in the boondocks? No TV and or radio? The video was even leaked to the media. It was pretty embarrising as a fan but they were punished and we went on to go undefeated in the regular season. So I'm ok with it now.
1. They beat the Chargers in the divisional play-offs last year.
2. I'm sick of hearing about them every single minute on espn.

It came out that either the Giants or Jets one of them i forget which one, but the did the same thing and no one jumped all over them. Its just another thing to hate them for because they are good, they are a dynasty, they are the Patriots.
[QUOTE="-Halftime-"]I despise the city of Boston & their sports teams.Just_Osmo
I know the way the City of Boston helped Birth the nation you know today. A-Holes.
What's your point? Boston played arole in shaping the US, so what? I still hate the city.
Plenty of people hate Philadelphia(My hometown) even though it was very vital to the forming of the nation. You don't see me caring about it.
Lol, "Hate the city of Boston." You've probably never even been to Boston.
I despise the the Yankees, it's not like I hate the city of New York, because, you know, that would make me a complete idiot.

It was the Jets and it wasn't the same.. They were video taping the end zones which is legal theyw ere just recording from an illegal spot.

Hearing the Jets cheated is like hearing Alex Sanchez and Ryan Franklin used steroids (yawn, they still suck). Hearing the Patriots cheated is like hearing Barry Bonds and Roger Clemens used steroids (why??? they didn't need it!).
You know what irks me about this cheating thing....I'm pretty sure NONE of the players had any idea what was going on. The players bust their asses all season (and do go undefeated), and they still have to hear about something they weren't a part of/aware of. Give it a rest. Regardless, everyone hates them because they are the best, and because Belichick can be an ass, even when he's trying to be nice.cell_dweller
Shouldn't that be extra reason to hate the club and coaching staff? The players did what was never done before, yet their accomplishments can't escape the shadow of someone else's actions. If I were a Pats fan, I'd be demanding Belichick's head on a platter for tainting my town's biggest source of civic pride.

It's over. Give it a rest. This season is untainted as will be next season and so on and so on.
Totally true. O, and why would anyone want Belichick's head on a platter? He's the best coach in the league....hands down. It's over. Give it a rest. This season is untainted as will be next season and so on and so on.

Again, BB was caught during the first game. No stolen signals were ever used during this season, they never cheated during this season.
SpyGate will not cast a shadow over their performance this season - it had NO impact on their performace.
The media isn't even talking about SpyGate anymore, it's all 16-0 talk, Coach of the Year talk, MVP talk, etc. Only bitter fans can't let it go.

Yes, I've been to Boston, more than once, actually, & yes, I hate the city. Why do you guys care if I hate your city? WTF does it matter to you? Like I said plenty of people hate my hometown yet I don't get all butthurt about it.
And just so you know, my hate for Boston sports teams stems from my hate of the city of Boston, not the other way around. It's not like I hate Boston because of their sports teams.

Flash back 10 years ago(before all the teams turned into powerhouses) Boston fans despised the yankees for being the best team in the league now that were on top(for football)we wonder why people hate us...thats hipocracy......but on another note nearly every team did that so the country is just looking for a reason to say the record is tainted, seriously they cut the best team in the nfc to shreads(dallas) the team that the media is trying to turn into americas team again(hence 12 probowl selections). anyway the Patriots are the best team of this era hands down, they have the best passing game ever and that all there is too be said, there the best....o yes about these last couple weeks when the patriots have came close to losing...these horrible backwards teams have played them to the death, when they played the patriots it was like there super bowl...and they did give the pats a good run but they pulled threw in the end
im sorry for my grammer im tired and listening to music

Boston has been in a rivalry with New York long before 10 years ago. The Red Sox-Yankees rivalry is much older than that.

The Rivalry goes way futher back then that. It began as more of a geographical rivalry. You tend to hate teams in your division and a state away. Besides that the new school yank rivalry was more because of the yankees payroll and the whole buying championships thing.
Football is different. Patriots didn't buy championships like the yankees did. The Salary cap puts all team on par with each other. The Patriots just had the talent that drafted good talent and signed good players.

But still, everyone hates a winner. I see what what your saying with the yankees salary cap, thats true. Im just making a comparison because they are similar situations.
If you're just talking about this year, it's mostly b/c of the cheating. And Bellichik is a really hateable guy. Look at his fake man-hug with Mangini last year. Plus you add all the overblown media coverage, and another hateable guy like Moss, and you have all the ingredients for the most hated team ever.
(and don't even get me started on the fans...)

I don't know about "the most hated team ever," but with the media coverage I can see where you are coming from. Its sometimes nice for me, because its my favorite team, but sometimes they go too far (like the MNF game against the Ravens.)
squitssquat why do you always reply to quotes above them? Everyone posts bellow the quote and you just have to be different. Conform to the Norm!Just_Osmo

Geographical? Not so much, it really has to do with Ruth.
He was our star pitcher, then we foolishly traded him to the Yankees to finance some ridiculous broadway play, the Curse of the Bambino was put on us,and with the Yankees he became the most famous ball player of all time.
The bad blood between the Sox and the Yankees goes all the way back to Ruth.

It has to do with geography too. Being next door neighbors helps alot.
Oh for pete's sake! What cheating? Pfffffffff. You know darn well they cheated (or at least you know of the scandal). The Patriots are jerks (terrible sportsmen). Belichek doesn't shake hands with the opposite coach, Rodney Harrison and all the defensive players trash talk like their the best players ever in the NFL (which they're not) even when they're winning by 63.Whiteghost09
If they're winning by large sums doesn't that say something about how good they are? I mean, their defense is overrated because of that offense they have opposite of them, but they're still lock down when needed (aka, not the third quarter, where they sucked against good teams lol). When you walk it, why can't you talk it? Not very classy, but at the same time, they have a right...
