I voted maybe. We'll just have to wait and see. Now that I think about it, he probably won't.

that's a great question with no presedent in any other sport. For example OJ was long retired and in the hall of fame already when his issue came up. I can't recall anybody in any sport EVER doing something like this, and they were hall of fame material. I mean you have people like Ray Carruth who killed his wife while he was still in the NFL, but he was far from a hall of fame calibur player. Chris Benoit was a GREAT wrestler, and considering the Hall of Fame is SUPPOSED to honor a person's skills at their particular sport, we all know that there are more things than that that will factor in. I honestly don't know.

Absolutely not. I mean hell if baseball won't put Pete Rose in the hall of fame for illegal betting then a murderer got no chance in hell. It's sad, most people would have nothing but positive things to say about benoit both as a professional and as a person, but this just ruins everything. I bet the wwe is pissed for honoring a murderer.

The funny thing is that you and many other peopel dont even wait till more facts are put out. Hell he could have killed his family but know one even know wyet why he did it or if he was even at a normal state when he did this. If he was fine(brain wise) and he just ranomdly kille dhis family which so happened to be on the weekend of a PPV then no HOF fo rBenoit but if it was due to roid rage or if he was drugged or if it was one big setup that the police have yet to find out since it takes more then 1 day to find out hen yes HOF for Benoit he was one of the best tacticle wrestlers out, also i dont follow wrestling anymore so what days do they give ECW Smackown and w/e other crap WWE put ut now a days

In next few years I don't see it happening, because I was just on WWE Shopzone and they have baisicly cut out any references to Benoit. I even looked up old pay per views from 2004 on DVD and even on WrestleMania 20(which for those who don't know Benoit main evented and had a prominent role in) and they baisicly cut out all references to him on the WrestleMania 20 DVD it only mentions Shawn Michaels and HHH in the main event, I noticed that with most of the old PPVs on DVD that Benoit main evented, they would mention every other match but the one he wrestled. Its not only WWE doing this, TNA took down the memorial they had on him off their website.

What happened is very sad and tragic. I feel for Chris Benoit's wife and son. What is really sad about all this is that I'm sure they will find something wrong with Chris Benoit that helped cause this tragedy. If you have been watching ESPN at all, they have been talking about the NFL and what concussions have done to numerous players. They have caused severe levels of depression and have not been treated properly. Think about how many concussions a wrestler can get? Sure they are playing by a script but the drops and some hits they take are plenty real. I'm sure they go through many concussions that go untreated. What that adds up to is a lot of stuff like depression and depression has caused many a murder/suicide... I'm not trying make is sound like Benoit has no fault here, but that could be a really strong factor. Plus all the 'roids you know he took. It's just sad.

I can't believe you said that we need months to find out what happened.Use common sense and logic man.No signs of forced entry. I would say that all murderers have something wrong with them to murder someone but assuming Chris Benoit did it, it is no different than a crack head on the street corner shoot 2 people.

We do know that someone in the house between the wife, child and Benoit did this crime. No outsider came in the house man. It does not take a rocket scientist to know that. We also know that a gun was not used. It would be hard for an intruder to strangle 2 people and then someone hang Benoit in his own gym.

The only thing I can think of is that the wife could have done this but I am leaning towards Benoit who has a history of domestic abuse and destruction.

So please with the crap, perhaps we do not know every intricate detail of what happened but either Chris or his wife did the murders.

I wonder who's next to go. Based on the fact that anabolic steroids were found in Benoit's home, I'm going to guess that Batista is the next to die prematurely in a steROID induced RAGE.

Okay, so you obviously didn't read the article that I linked because there were NO steroids found at his house! At least not yet. Plus, they said that when the people died, the way they died showed that the person wasn't in a rage state. I'm not saying steroids didn't somehow contribute to this but what you are saying is so misinformed it's unbelievable!

Well according to an AP video I saw, and this article from CNN they did find anabolic steroids in his home. FAYETTEVILLE, Georgia (CNN) -- The discovery of anabolic steroids in pro-wrestler Chris Benoit's home has raised speculation that the performance-enhancing drugs may be linked to his death and the killings of his wife and young son.

I have to believe that roid rage was involved at some point in his relationship with his wife. Back in 2003, Benoit's wife filed for divorce alleging 'cruel treatment'...she charged that Benoit had threatened her and had broken furniture in their home. He may not have broken any furniture over the weekend, but wouldn't you have to be in some sort of angered state to strangle your wife? Could it be related to steroids? It's obviously something that the authorities are looking into.

I have nothing against benoit personally, as a wrestler he is respected as a person not so much thats why i voted no. Not to mention this has shades of ultimate warrior not the killing part but the so called roid rage, which has not been proven yet on benoit's side, has stopped warrior from getting in the hall of fame.

Yeah, I noticed from your linked article that it was a statement from the WWE. Of course they don't want to be held accountable. Steroids is such a hot topic in real sports but comments and investigations are not really made about wrestling probably because it's not a "real" sport. ESPN's story has a chart of recent wrestling deaths along with cause of death. Many steroid related. You would think that the WWE should be more responsible in screening their "athletes" for the sake of their own health. And with the violent nature of the "sport," wouldn't roid rage be more common for these guys outside of the ring? But like baseball, they want to cash in on the popularity on their stars who perform well in their "enhanced" state. Can you imagine if they started screening? Batista would probably shrink like Bane when you pull out his venom tube. John Cena should be looked at too.

While I certainly don't see it occurring in the immediate future, I do think that Benoit might be inducted in the WWE Hall of Fame at some point in the future. Benoit won't get the Eddie Guerrero treatment of immediately entering the Hall of Fame, but it would become hard to ignore one of the best wrestlers in the era, despite what ended up causing his death. Whether he goes in will likely be up to Vincent K. or Shane McMahon.

To answer the question. No he will not be inducted to the HoF in 10 years, 20 years and so on. It is obvious that the WWE is distancing themselves from this whole situation so why would they rekindle it by inducting an "alleged"(its pretty much given that he did it, the WWE admits it, the police have concluded that) murderer of his wife and his 7 year old son who by reports had a condition called Fragile X in which he was mentally handicapped. It is an absolute horror story for the WWE in terms of PR and you definitely will never have a Benoit "angle" in the coming months. However, OJ Simpson is in his respective HoF(football) and he is believed by many, even though he was found innocent, so it is not the same situation as the Benoit case.

Second to those who balk at a wrestling hall of fame yes the wrestling is scripted it is far from "fake", no matter how much training you have a fall off a ladder hurts, same goes for chair shots, power bombs, choke slams and a multitude of other moves. The performers work nearly 300 days out of the year and go through the same stuff over and over. The HoF when it comes to Wrestling is just as much about how "well" you did in terms of titles and popularity but also how much effort you put in it. Wrestlers deal with knee, back and neck problems for the rest of their lives and when their time comes to retire, a few years down the road it must be a pretty damn special thing to be inducted and be remembered for all you gave to the business.

Again it is scripted not fake. The way things play out are fake but what goes on in the ring is far from fake. How about you go into the ring and see just how fake just taking a bodyslam is and come back here and tell me its fake.

This is a sad sad story. Benoit was one of my favorite wrestlers ever. To hear that he died in such a way is Horrific. Its just sad, very sad.

I think most of us say fake but we are only referring to how it is set up who wins and loses. I say fake all the time but I know these guys are athletes and do some amazing things in the ring. So, scripted, fake, both hold the same meaning for most people.

If he just retired, or had some kind of injurey that made him reitre, then i would say yes. Unless there is some great proof that he didn't kill his wife and child then no. Its a shame the way he died, he would have been a lock in my opinion.
