So I was looking at the NBA Single Game Scoring Records, I cant believe that Wilt Chamberlain scored a lot of 50-60-70+ points in SO MANY GAMES. I scrolled the list and his name was all over it. It's just unbelievable. I mean, to someone who witnessed this era, Is there a "DEFENSE" in basketball before. Someone scoring 50/60/70 on a night to night basis should clearly be stopped, This is such a shame for the players in this era. It's just not right how could one person dominate like that.

Yes, Wilt's records are very impressive. But I don't think you should shame the other players. It was a different era. I may be wrong, but I think he was playing at the time when there was the ABA and NBA, not just one league. Also, my favorite old-school player would have to be Mr. Triple-Double himself, Oscar Robertson. Can you imagine someone averaging a triple-double nowadays? Scoring 50+ a night, night after nightis impressive indeed, but to do it all on the court to where you average a triple-double for your career?!? The Big O is definitely one of the best to play on the hardwood,as well asWilt "the Stilt" Chamberlain. Although I do think that some of his other accomplishments in life with the female gender are just as impressive. :)

Actually, Wilt led the NBA in assist for one season with 8.6 assists per game. Wilt averaged 4.4 assists per game in his whole NBA career. Also the majority of Wilt's career predated the ABA. Wilt's Prime was before the ABA started to poach players from the NBA.

The problem was there was pretty much no one besides Bill Russell that could stop Wilt. There was also not that many 7 fters in the league at the time. There simply wasn't as much competition during his era so that's why he was able to score so many points. He pretty much camped in the key and dunked over the shorter defenders. Also the rules are a lot different now then back then
