Damon draws 7 pitches from Beckett then ends it with a 2-run Single. Oh yeah baby 3-0 Yankees.

If by owning you mean being 7 games back of the Red Sox, I agree.

Well its 3-1 now. It seems the Red Sox can never beat the Yankees, they will always lose two out of three or all three in a series. In a crucial series last year, the Yankees swept Boston out of a five game series. Except for the 2004 playoffs, the Yankees usually win the face-offs it seems.

I believe the Red Sox won the season series in 05. I thin if they lose this game the season series will be tied with 4 games still yet to be played(3 at Fenway). 4-1 now with ARods homer.

I'm not a fan of either team but I don't see how leading by three runs and significantly back in the standings is owning...

The fact that boston came back from 3-0 in the playoffs is a big enough smack on the yankees to last the decade.

Im a Yankees fan but in no way have the Yankees owned the Red Sox in this series. They have won both games but they havn't blown them out and arn't very close for the chase for AL East champs.

talk about a bandwagon ..... anyway Yankees sweep Red Sox and I see no reason as to why I can not boast about this. Going to hit my friend (a red sox fan) with a broom on his back tomorrow morning, should be great.

It doesn't get much worse than scoring 44 runs in four games, and then scoring six runs over the course of three games. Ugh, the next time we play against the Yankees, we need to bench Nancy. There's no way that guy deserves 13 million a year for 7 HR and 46 RBIs... It's just plain sad. :x What were we thinking? Argh!

Overpaid for Lugo as well. He is making as much as Renteria. They should have kept that guy.

Yeah, isn't Renteria's BA like .320 or something?

Ugh, I can't stand Drew, Lugo, and Crisp. They're nothing but rally killers. :x

How soon can you forget that Renteria couldn't handle the pressure in Boston.

Why would you say that? His season in Boston wasnt far off his typical numbers. If you are referring to his errors(30 that year), his first 3 years in St Louis he had 26,27,and 24 errors.

With Sox' .276 average, career average .291...with Sox' .385 SLG, career average .408, with Sox' .335 OBP, career average .349 plus the 30 errors and the look in his face that he never felt comfortable as his 100 k's (career high) suggest.

Yeah, after that trade I lost some respect for the Red Sox organization.

Yea we all love Nomar, but he did reject a 4 year $60 million contract that the Sox offered him. The Sox didnt want to pay more than that and Cabrera was a key to the run. Funny thing is he ended up with a 1 year 8 mill contract from the Cubs. The guy was/is always injured.

The Yanks are back for a Playoff run. I just hope they keep their winning streak on. They need to take care of their Wild Card lead againts the Mariners.
