Yao Ming is out. Can Rockets win series?

Conspiracy!!! Stern and Wade took out Yao's kneecaps so Kobe could have an easier ride to the Finals. BELIEVE IT!!!

Did you know that during the 2001 ECF, Stern was hugging Dikembe Mutambo saying "The Bucks will get respect next year." During Game 6, Scott Williams took a flagrant foul on Allen Iverson that did not get him ejected. However, despite not being ejected, Williams was suspended for Game 7. Why? Because he is the emotional leader of the Bucks and that would secure a Game 7 victory for the 76ers.
Then look at the Utah Jazz Bulls series, when MICHAEL JORDAN CLEARLY PUSHED OFF BYRON RUSSELL AND DIDN'T GET A CALL. The refs blew so many calls in favor of the Bulls it was ridiculous. A lot of people don't know but Pippen had a bad back and was not sure if he could be there for a Game 7, and since MJ is 1-11 or something like that without Pippen in the playoffs it was absolutely necessary the Bulls won Game 6 to secure MJ's media "Greatest of all Time" crown. As far as I am concerned the Jazz are the 1998 Champs.
Then you have 2002 WCF, which was so obviously rigged I don't even think it needs an explanation (as it has been proven it was rigged). Like when Bibby got elbowed hard by Kobe Bryant (like Ron Artest) and was bleeding on the floor, the foul was called on Bibby. There was no way they were going to let a 400,000 pop. city win over a 3.8 million pop. city.
These are just the examples I can think on the top of my head. Then you have the Suns Spurs series in 07, Mavericks Rockets series in 05, Knicks Bulls 94, and other cheats. The league is rigged.
Dang, i was hoping this series would be a challenge for the Lakers.......^ as for MJ not getting called, nobody calls fouls at the end of a game just like with Fisher against the Spurs. I wouldn't say it's rigged......being a Laker fan it's hard to admit that we did get some favorable calls against the Kings but hey we won, officiating is always iffy in basketball :? You find a way to win anyway......X360PS3AMD05
Yeah but that foul should've been called. Not to mention the refs were after the Jazz the whole game, especially in terms of shot clock violations. The Jazz were a better team than the Bulls that year but Stern couldn't have his number one player lose. I do understand where Stern is coming from though (he needs profit and ratings).

Why the hell would he want a Cavs vs. Lakers finals? Clevland is a small market[QUOTE="jfcundiff"][QUOTE="yokofox33"]

Stern thinks Lebron is the next MJ.
Why the hell would he want a Cavs vs. Lakers finals? Clevland is a small market uh, Cleveland and Lakers will bring in HUGE ratings. Almost like when the Yankees had that WS streak but when they didnt make it, FOX was not happy.[QUOTE="jfcundiff"][QUOTE="yokofox33"]

How could you not think a Kobe v. LeBron Finals would be huge for the NBA.

Well if Utah would have played some D instead of letting jordan march right down the lane for a layup the posession before, and then come back on defense and if malone wouldn't have got the ball stolen by jordan than maybe that shot doesn't matter. Jordan single handedly won that game in the last minute on offense and defense. People may remember that shot, but he had his hand in every part of the last few posessions. And i can say that confidently being one of the few people on this board who is actually old enough to have a distinct memory of that play and have the overall knowledge of basketball at that time. Not saying you are one of those people, but there are a lot of people on this board who comment on jordan and they were still in diapers when he won his first title, meaning they were still in elementary school when that shot happened. I don't want hear anything about jordan from those people. It's the same reason why you won't hear me comment on magic and bird, i can give an opinion, but i'll never argue, because although i saw both of them play in the finals, i wasn't of age to appreciate their talent and all the aspects of the game itselfI've seen your post the past few days and just sat back and laughed cause i don't generally comment unless it's with someone that actually knows what they are talking about. But i couldn't let that one slide. Anybody who knows basketball, or sports for that matter, and especially THAT GAME, knows that game was won on the previos posession when Jordan stole the ball from Malone, and the subsequent plays before that. A game that close never comes down to one play. If Malone does what a "superstar" is supposed to do, and make critical shots at the end of games to help his team win, that shot would have never happened. Not only didn't malone make the shot, he didn't even get a shot off. Meaning no chance at an offensive rebound, shooting fouls, loose ball fouls, etc. He got it stolen, and it was over right there. That push off excuse is lame and real tired at this point.

i guess you didn't understand what my post said.

The Jazz should've had a 10 point lead by then but the refs were giving the games to the Bulls, because there was doubt Pippen would be able to play a Game 7.
Bulls first 5 Champs are legit, but the 98 Champs are the Jazz.
There goes that series. Can't see Houston winning even one more game without Yao.BobblesLets be honest, Houston wouldn't have won the series anyway.
wow...this is gettting ridiculous, its not even funny anymore. i shouldn't be a surprised but you'd think that AT LEAST one year this wouldn't happen......its almost like both yao and tmac are having a competition on who can get injured most while on the same team and in their careers

I was waiting for Yao to get hurt. It's just a matter of time each year til he pulls one of these. China overworks him during the Olympics and other events. He's peaked and not dependable. Like I said, if you can trade him now, do it, at least you'll get something out of it rather than go through this same scenario EACH YEAR!!!!
it's not that China overworks him, it's that his legs can't carry his weight over the course of an entire season, he's a freak of nature. The team needs to reduce his minutes if they want to have him available for the postseason.I was waiting for Yao to get hurt. It's just a matter of time each year til he pulls one of these. Do you really think Brooks will always do that? Pardon me if I see this as a massive fluke. If they do it again the MAYBE, but I doubt they will until they do.

As in proved me wrong by actually extending the series a game, come on now. I said right before that "it could've gone 7 games WITH Yao". Guess you couldn't put two and two together, sorry.

The 2nd contradicts the first. I did put 2 and 2 together, you said it could have gone 7 with Yao meaning without him you didn't think so, then you you said they proved you wrong. 2 and 2. Just word it differently next time.lol, Yaoming...... the greatest joke of the league. somebody needs to slap the Rockets and wake them up. Stop wasting time on this overrated **** who is never there when the team needs him the most.
Last time Yao was out they got eliminated in 6.Correct me if I'm wrong but don't they tend to go on hot streaks when Yao is out?
