The business group in charge of Yi said he will definitely not play for the Bucks. Doesn't this seem stupid considering he joined the NBA "DRAFT" were you dont choose to go. China wants him to go to a place with good publicity for China but I see this as a negative mark for China as its showing they only care about money and not the sport itself. There using this Yi who is yet to prove anything.

What does everyone else think of this especially if your a Bucks fan as they wasted an important pick on him?

the bucks should have known better. before the draft, he kept warning them that it's nota team that he feels comfortable playing on. if other players tell that to a team, the team usually avoids picking that player because they don't want a player who already has a rift or doesn't fit in with the team. his agents kept warning and warningthe bucks and they didn't listen, now they're paying the price.

I have instantly lost all respect for Yi. You're supposed to be a professional athlete, start acting like a professional. I have always hated Steve Francis because this same exact thing happened with him. I don't care if you don't want to play for a team, act like a professional and shut up and play, rather than acting like a whiny little kid who doesn't like his brithday present. Who knows, you might even enjoy yourself, and like the city you're in.

The people representing Yi are the ones telling him not to play there, not him. It's pretty sad how a grown man can't choose his own way but that's how it is.

It's the Chinese government, not Yi. Yi said he personally wouldn't mind playing anywhere in an interview before the draft. Besides, the Bucks were dumb enough to pick him after China made it clear they did not want him to play there.

I believe its Yi himself. I'm sure if Yi said "Sure I'll play for the Bucks" His brass would honor his wishes. Problem is that theres not enough chinese in Milwauke. Very stupid problem. If it is indeed the problem I have the solution. I know the perfect place with the perfect chinese population for Yi.....China... and I hope he stays there and does not see a single minute of NBA action. He shot himself in the foot anyway. No GM is gonna want to take on that mess.

Agree. The Bucks should know better not to pick Yi. Remember this, the Chinese athletes are own by the Communist government. They have no say in anything. I actually feel bad for them.

Excellent post and I couldn't have said it any better. If he holds fast on his position I hope he never amounts to anything and goes back to China as a failure.
