I find it funny that there are so many Sephiroth followers in this world. When it comes to villains, it is either Sephiroth and his dark, religious references, or Kefka and how cool and evil he is. I love Kefka, but one villain that has always caught my eye is Kuja. So here is the point of this topic: If you like Kuja as a villain more than Sephiroth, sign here and explain why. If not, also explain why. Try and defend your answers.

We’ve all met Kuja before: he appears in our sleep, walks just a step behind us, and preys on our every secret and desire. He is a living dichotomy, two halves of a whole. You see, beneath that perfect grin, Kuja is the angel and the devil. His eyes light up with a piercing fire and his words are nectar sweet; all the more to charm you with, he says. But what is it that drives him so? And why do we embrace his poetic venom so willingly? After all, Kuja wouldn’t hesitate to give you a vampire’s kiss and quickly plunge a dagger into your chest. That would probably be his obsessive way of never letting you go, to ensure that both of you were together forever. Because he was manufactured, it served as a catalyst for his belief that only the strong survive. In his eyes, the weak were to be despised and he would never allow himself to succumb to such a fate. At the same time, however, there is a morbid love that possesses and is not afraid to show it. Kuja could be composed of two elements of opposing harmony that never usurp one another: virtues and sins, good and evil, male and female. And to think it was all concocted together to form such a beautiful nightmare.

“A fantastic mix of different villain qualities, Kuja is cool and epic, cruel and violent, funny and sarcastic, and tragic and understandable at the same time. His motives are some of the best ever, and his presence is excellent. His intelligence and manipulation are fantastic, and the tragic irony of his life is simply amazing.”

I did not find Kuja to be very sinister. He didn't seem evil enough or in control enough for me. Most of the time Garland was a step ahead of him. All in all, I did't think he was that great. He didn't even put up much of a fight.

Kuja could have been a better villain if they had focused on him more. As it stands, there were too many bad guys to fight. If diffused the evil between all of them.

You are correct in that statement. However, when you talk about this type of thing, you can take the societal view of good and evil and call it a day. Naturally, if you live in a different society then you may have a different view.

I do love Kuja, I admit it. How could I not, considering FFIX was the first FF I ever played? Besides, in Trance he was supremly powerful, destroying a world and bringing chaos to another. Sephiroth couldn't do either (most people didn't know what was going on untill Meteor fell, after all, and the blame wasn't put on him).

Kuja was also more refined than any other FF villan I know. He tries to fit the role of classic stage villan, even though he's not very suited to it. Also, the music track that plays during his final battle is my second favorite music song from any FF (beaten only by the song in Pandemonium where Zidane loses it completly).

I thought that Kuja was just plain awesome AFTER the story got going. With Kefka and Sephiroth, well they were just awesome when they were first introduced. To me, honestly, when I first saw Kuja, it took me awhile to figure out if he was a guy or a girl. He definately has some feminine traits to his appearance. However, Kuja did have some awesome power, especially when he went into his trance mode. So I will say that he was probably the most powerful villain. He also was played into the whole story much more than either Sephiroth or Kefka was. But then you have to look back upon those two villains and realize that he is just not as awesome as they are. I mean think about it. Sephiroth and Kefka both made their power with themselves and became great and powerful through expirience. But then Kuja was made and originally controlled by Garland. His only purpose was to kill Zidane in the first place. So althought Kuja may be an awesome villain, and he definately is one of my favorites. I still do not think I could say he is my favorite villain in the Final Fantasy series.

I liked Kuja plenty. I think he filled the villain role as good as anybody. It takes an awful lot for me to dislike a video game character because I'm rather flexible. I don't think about it and compare it constantly so I tend to like Final Fantasy games without all the fan-laws and fan-labels. He had proper motivations for his actions... He was powerful... He manipulated... And he was evil with dashes of sympathy to his point of view. All the villain stuff I've seen before with enough to make him original and new. I don't see a problem.

sephiroth was confused. . .he was more of a pathetic villain than kuja (not pathetic as in weak, but as in easy to take pity on). . .i mean, he thought an evil space-conqueror thing was his mother. . .then just tried to please 'her' by destroying the world. kuja was a puppet that rebelled, was more a 'foil' to zidane as a villain, and managed to seriously piss you off at pretty much every front (manipulating black mages, killing dagger's mother, controlling EVERYONE, the list goes on. . .). i think he's the best ff villain overall, while sephiroth is sort of 'there'. . .he just went crazy. kuja never lost it, his goal was ALWAYS to kill zidane. . . .

I like Kuja more because Sephiroth is so cliche. He's like 'I'm all different and wanna kill everyone so we'll all be the same'. But Kuja is like 'I'm so lonely...all I want's a friend...I'm gonna die so I'll take everyone with me so I won't be alone anymore'. He's not really a bad guy. He just wanted to kill everyone so they'd understand how he feels and so he won't have to be alone in death. nd he's compassionate. He let Zidane go when he could've destroyed him and he said sorry too. And Kuja is so ultra super hot too!!! Epecially in trance! I LOVE red hair!!! :D

Kuja is pretty cool and pretty evil, but Sephiroth and Kefka are better villians. as stated above, both Sephiroth and Kefka were evil from the very begining you hated them from the very start. For Kuja it took some time for our hatred to grow.

So yeah Kuja was cool and evil, but Sephy and Kefka were better villians. But who cares really, non of them succeded... completely (Kefka)
