Just to expand on that, in no way is this something that you can discuss and its something far removed from the games themselves. Chocobo riding has not changed enough for it to be a radical different feature in each game, hence discussing it is a pointless. Most people will judge the Chocobo sequence by the game rather than any other way (if you liked VIII you'll like the Chocobo there, etc).
