Alright, I have heard, and I mantain the fact that, as long as Cloud is alive, Sephiroth will exist. In Kingdom Hearts 1 and 2, we see Cloud say that he cannot rest, for as long as he exists, Sephiroth will exist. Although in the Final intro of FF7, we see cloud seemingly enter into his own conscious to kill Sephiroth. So, I guess the question is: Which theory do you hold: 1) As long as Cloud is alive, Sephiroth is alive, or 2) Sephiroth is finally killed at the ending of Advent Children?
But, why would Sephroth be alive as long as Cloud is alive? It's been a couple of years since I played the game so I don't really remember it that well.
ok well hmmm... That last of sephiroth I'm not sure... But, The planet was cleansed of Jenovas existance within the lifestream so only another clone could become sephiroth.. But like Kadja He would need "mother" and Jenova is gone for good... Unless another Jenova like alien comes to there planet and starts the whole cycle again... If the lifestream is a cycle then so is time.. And it will repeat itself...But, who knows we as fans can only fight over the next stage in FFVII....

Sephiroth is a lot like Dracula. He always comes back. He may be dead now, but trust me, he'll get better. When he does, FF7 will have a new story. That's what makes the FF7 world go round.
History is destined to repeat itself, during the conversation between Rufus and Kadaj (Right before summoning Bahamut SIN) Â he said something about,
"Jenova and Sephiroth and that what ever happens we will obey the rule of life. The outcome of your actions will always be the same."
I think that as long as Cloud is alive a piece of Sephiroth is as well. Kadaj, Loz, Yazoo, Jenova, Sephiroth and all the Jenova cells that were removed from the children still exist in the life stream. Thus the cycle keeps on going.
