As some of you may know, there has been a debate on wether Square Enix should remake the old classic, Final Fantasy 7. Some say that it needs a remake for graphics and some say that true fans play the original. Well, I have an idea that could make both sides happy, or make me the most hated member here. What they should do is when AC is released, set up commercials for FFVII and redistribute. Same game, but sold again, although maybe on one disc. well, post your thoughts on this idea.
yah its a pretty common game if you look. and i would be so happy if they remade that game, but if they ruined it i would be so mad. so if they do remake it they better make it good.

A remake in which is just onto one disc is a step back from even getting the game remade in the first place. No if there gonna make a remake it needs to be the full works.

I don't care for a remake at all, I figure they can put the team that would work on it onto some new, original project instead. New > old.
Also, remakes never hold the same charm as the original. The original is always considered "better" so it's almost like a losing battle from the start there.
A remake with some extra bosses, side quests, weapons, materia ect or just graphically updated would sell, and be well liked. The biggest problem question would probably be wether to put voice actors in it or not, I'm assuming if they did it would probably be the ones used in the English release of FFAC, at least that would probably be the best idea. Fact is though It IS a good idea and I would love to see it happen, plus it would probably be a better use of the tallent SE has on hand then making an entirely new game as they seem to have big problems doing so. I am also willing to bet that on a remake a good portion of the nay sayer FF fans would would buy it in spite of ll their nay sayity.
If there is a remake I'd be very afraid they would mess it up. For me the game is perfect as it is. Absolutely perfect, if they re-made it they'd put voices in which in my opinion would kill it, it's one of those games that shouldn't have voices.

sorry for the double post.. i agree with you about the extra bosses, side quests etc.. i think putting voices in would be ideal as voices are now very common in present games..
but overall who wouldnt love a FFVII re-make.. it will be the greatest game ever made re-born!!!
I do not want a FF7 remake. unless they add new stuff. If its just for improved graphics, tahts just stupid. But if there is one, im buyin itAsianGamer

Honestly, I think I'd be put-off if they added voices... Unless maybe if they just added English subtitles to Japanese voices...? I don't know, I don't see English dubbing doing well. My experience has been that voice acting tends to make the characters sound stupid.

Hey, can you explain to me why Aerith was alive in FF tactics? Last time I checked, she died in FFVII and when Cloud gets warped to Ivalice, Aerith is there? What's up with that? Is Ivalice kind of like a world where the dead are revived or something because the ending to tactics is suspicious enough for me. :P

Sorry, live in Europe so we never got FF Tactics. But I'm getting a new PS2 on saturday for my birthday that can play PAL+NTSC games. So I'll probably get myself a copy of FF Tactics pretty soon.
Are you people living under rocks, they have made a sequel, its called advent children, if they did make a sequel it would be like a sequel to the sequel and i think thats what DoC is. They should definatly remake it thought, new graphics (get rid of those freakishly skinny arms) keep the same music, the music was amazing, just update it into better quality, some new materias and sidequests would be appreciated. The battle system should stay the same! the FFVII battle system was super easy to use and unconfusing, but they should make new materia combos and maybe add a FEW features to the battle system but dont jack it all up and make the new features overwhelming and pointless, or if they can't accomplish that just take the new features out.

Hmm, you have a point there. I mean, people probably want to see it in an RPG version and not FPS version, but we'll take what we can get.
they should defintely remake it, as most of the people that dont want it remade are die hard FF7 fans, or are just not bothered, not only will it improve the graphics, more and more people will want to play it, and will actually be the best Final Fantasy game for a very long time
