Good luck!! I've thought of doing that before but got overwhelmed...I still need to beat XII anyway. :P
I wouldn't bother playing all of them but maybe thats just me. I would play FF6, FF7, FF8, FF9(is ok just depends on what you like), FFX.
I would also play FF2 but I don't think I would play the first ff nor would I play FF3,FF4 or FF5. I have yet to play FF12 so I don't have much to say about it.

12 was totally worth playing and 4 is one of my favs.... but basically.. you can't miss out on any of them.. especially not when challenging yourself to play all of them in sequential order.

You can't skip the old ones, that was the basis of Final Fantasy. IV and V are definitely worth a play, and XII is excellent.

Good luck with that one, it's a dedicated task to do - I'd never be able to do it.
I've been recently re-playing my old Playstation one and two final fantasy games on the PS3 (started April).
FFX-2 (Done 100% [That took a while to do some of the things] didn't get the good ending because I forgot to Whistle),
Final Fantasy x (I never actually bought this game just borrowed it from a friend and beat it.),
Final Fantasy IX (I'm on the last disc just haven't gotten around to it again),
Final Fantasy VIII (I'm on the third disc in Esther [I think that's how you spell it] I never got this far in this game before I don't know why),
Final Fantasy XII (I have been procrastinating to beat this game for some reason)
As for Final Fantasy VII I can't start a new game due to a scratch on the disc so I have to borrow a friend's copy of the game and start it so I can play this one. And I have gotten rid of my account for Final Fantasy XI and have no intentions on getting it again. I think hope to get a DS soon so I can replay all the older FF games.
(I am also half way through Dragon Quest VIII and last month completed Radiata stories)
*EDIT* I forgot to add Final Fantasy Tactics for the Playstation (I'm just at the begining of the game)
...Final Fantasy XII (I have been procrastinating to beat this game for some reason)...

I think a lot of people have that problem. Myself included, lol

I liked the beginning a lot. And then right up to Archades I started doing more hunts than story line stuff and so when I stopped playing I didn't really have any want to go back and play. I really should just make myself finish it, but...I dunno, I'd rather be playing FFVI or Oblivion. :D

I think many had (have) an issue with FFXII. I struggled to actually finish the game since the story didn't appeal to me much, by the end - I was satisfied just for completing it, and not the ending.
