How far will the Final Fantasy series go? It's a question yet to be answered. I have seen many online comedy flashes that go into the future and you see like FF a million. Do you really think the FF series will go until the human race gets exterminated by something and what will happen to the title. Will it continue with romen numerals? this is wat will happend i think :this will end and it will end wit the most epic ff's ever then they will work on something similar and make it long just as ff ...could kingdom hearts take final fantasies place when it retires?
Why not continue until the end of humanity? Every FF has his own story, his little something that makes us play it, it always comes with something new, so why not play a FF every year of our life, that if we can make time before the future jobs and/or the family or something else?

What will happen to the title you ask? and how far will it go? I can safely say anyone here is an FF fan and can back me up when I say that they, at Square, have a formula, and it's working for them. I don't see them changing the roman numerals onless it's a spin-off and not a main title such as DOC and for the main titles, this is not official, but I'm pretty sure we'll be seeing FFXV-FFXX. Mario has his thing, Final Fantasy has it's. Let a good thing grow unspoiled. Don't change something that works.
Well, community changes with each generation, so once people get tired of RPGs, or complex stories, Square migt change the games, but I think Final Fantasy will be here for a long time.

word.... lol but ya i think ff is here to stay.. maybe not til the end of humanity but for a helluva long time it would be a sad thing to see ff end =/
I dunno how far it will go... I guess money is an issue, but so far it's still one of the most popular if not the most popular RPG ever and that will carry it on until a new generation of people come out that really don't enjoy RPG's because of some revolutionary gaming style. But until then I think that they should eventually remake the older ones with updated graphics and stories, to meet today's standards. Everyone was so hyped about a possible VII remake, I say if they're going to do that, do it later, go back earlier first and make the ones a lot of people missed. I'm excited for FF III.
the funny story about it is that squaresoft made the first final fantasy because they where almost gonna be bankrupt because the other games werent selling that well and now their main game ppl know them for is final fantasy lol ...i dont think final fantasy will ever have an end maybe an end in the rpg world some day...and when that day comes square is gonna change the genre but still keep the storylines that made final fantasy incredible and heart throbing
