after releasing the online only FFXI and with no new games for more than two years I see no reason to stay fans of them. Why do you people bother? So they can ignore and swindle another leagion of fans? ive loved ff since ff6 and now its cheapened and commerilized to the point of me hating it.

Well I don't hate square, and the reason for the 2 year delay is because FF12 is going to be amazing.

Hey, I like a bunch of Squaresoft/Square-Enix games but I also love other RPGs as well. It's not like I ONLY play Square-Enix. Try playing Shadow Hearts or Xenosaga sometime. There are RPGs out there other than Square-Enix games.

Then when Square releases a somewhat interesting game like Dirge of Cerberus or Kingdom Hearts 2 or FFXII, then go back to Square-Enix games. That's how I roll.

There has always been a delay with the company, but basically waiting for Dirge of Cerebus,KH2 and FFXII ensure this year is going to be great, i mean getting them all in a similar time is better to me than spread out through yearly.

Dirge of cerubus KH2 FFXII and Advent children are in my mind sort of like square appologies for games like FFX2 radiata stories, dragon quest 8,FFXI in my own mind. I say that because I personly was dissapointed with those games. I know some people think differently  and liked those but not me.

Square Enix does produce some of the best RPGs but I generally love all RPGs. Xenosaga is great then there are Grandia I (Masterpiece!) and Grandia II, Dark Chronicle, Disgaea, Phantom Brave....Suikoden games are supposed to be good, I'm getting Suikoden III in three days so then I can say how good it is. There is just a wide selection of non SquareEnix RPGs out there.

Seeing that I'm getting a modded PS2 for my birthday so I can play US games I thought I'd get Suikoden III because I always wanted it, but its very hard to find. I looked on ebay for weeks, the sealed copies were always in the US and going for around $200 and I couldn't even find a proper used copy somewhere in Europe! Then one day I found a sealed, brand new copy for 69 Euros dispatched from within Germany and so I bought it! :D

The problem is that a lot of those games are rare. I've been searching for Disgaea for a long time! I know where I can find it but there's a problem. I know that I could get it on Ebay but the thing is I don't have a credit card or a PayPal account.

I swear to God that I'm the last person on Earth that doesn't have a cell phone, credit card, internet at home, TV through an antenna (no cable or dish), and a house that's falling apart. I'm so poor!

Mmmmmm..... FFX-2 was a screw up, but I am currently playing FFXI and I'm loving it. Haven't played dragon Quest 8 cause I live in Europe but from what I heard it's supposed to be great and go look at other RPG's. There are a lot of good ones out there :)

I disagree, getting them all at once, for me, would make the wait for different games even longer. Considering the fact that I'd be so addicted that I'd beat them all in about 4 months. :P

Well, I turn 21 in a few months so getting a credit card should be easy now. I'm probably going to get one sooner or later. I just haven't been going around buying on ebay for rare games because I'm saving up for all the good stuff that's coming out this year, AC, DoC, Shadow Hearts: From The New World, Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion (if I decide to get an Xbox 360), KH2, etc.

They've released plenty of new games: Star Ocean III, Radiata Stories, Romancing Saga, Samurai Legend Musashi, FFIV Advance, Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories, FF Dawn of Souls, FFX-2 (was that before or after?) and plenty others, half of them are decent...

Im replaying FFX and its fun, but DAMN I forgot how HORRIBLE the voice acting is, its as bad as its writing. The whole whistleing and laugh out loud thing was so terrible! Even if it wasnt dubbed and all in japanese I still would be sick.

Taken from the game script page at gamefaqs.com.

Yuna: I hope we don't get separated.

Tidus: Yuna!

Tidus did a call whistle with his fingers.

Yuna: -gasp-What was that?

Tidus giggles.

Tidus: In Zanarkand, we do this to cheer on blitzball players.

Tidus blows a whistle again.

Tidus: You try it, too! Put your fingers in your mouth like this.

Yuna: Like...this?

Tidus: Uh-uh, not like that. Like this. Then, you just blow.

Yuna tries it, but no whistle was made and she couldn't do it.

Yuna: It's not working.

Tidus: Practice!

Yuna: Okay.

Tidus: Hey, use that if we get separated. Then, I'll come running, okay?
Well, guess we should just stick together, then, till you can do it.

Yuna: Yes, sir!

She doesnt know what whistleing is... oh man*slaps his forehead and sighs*:x

I share the pain with Square's decisions over the years - particularly thier lackluster efforts in making games post-SNES that have the "ummph" that the old titles had. My favorite post-SNES Square game was and still is Final Fantasy VII. This doesn't stop me from playing Square games - I like RPG's so much I often will suffer through a bad experience unless it has some serios technical problems that make it unplayable. My regrets are that whenever a new Square game comes out, I drop whatever I am playing and get into the Square title. There are a few times that I wish I hadn't, because sometimes the Square game is bad and I have to start the other game over because I forgot what I was doing!

I did skip FFX-2 because it was just too different, and had too many take-aways - and Yuna was in it (I HATED that character). I skipped FFXI because I am not into the whole "online play" experience. I have to admit - I play games to get away from people - not be immersed in them... Square's sleazy marketing move with Nintendo (Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles) almost made me drop Square altogether - I will never respect them as I once did. Yes, they ignore us and they refuse to give us what we want (like REAL sequels, extra game play (game-+, which they invented with Chrono Trigger), and more exports of the games they release overseas) but for the most part thier worse games are more entertaining than some developers best games.

Lets hope Mistwalker can save us from the grip of Square. I had hope that Enix would provide a challenge to them - but we all see what happened there...

I can't agree with you more. The sad thing is, I bet you can still find scripts from that game much worse than that.

As for being a fan, I'm still a fan of the FF series. I mean, it's kind of like being a fan of a football team that's going through a tough time and some losing seasons. Sure, they might be bad now but in a few years, you'll know when you get that winning team (game) again...I'm so bad at doing these cliches.
