Anyone ever gotten into one of those fights, that once you begin you realise you really shouldnt have, like...

Midgar Zolem at start of FFVII
T-Rexaur in FFVIII
or most recently for me, the werewolves in FFXII when i was such a low level.

lol, they are all funny when you look back on them

Oh geez. It happens to me all the time in FFXII. Rare monsters, clan hunts, accidental wanderings to bad, bad places full of evil things ripe with nasty. If I had a dollar for every time I've yelped the words "Oh, this was a mistake!" in a high pitched voice, I'd be rich. Where do I even begin?

Nam-Yensa Sandsea, first time through. I accidentally used a cure spell near a Salamond Entite (level 45 and stupid strong), and it turned hostile and wiped my party out. Another one was in Golmore Jungle. I was working my way through the northwestern corner, killing lots of panthers, when I spotted this shiny, flaming thing farther up the path. Wondering what it was, I moved in closer, discovered that they were level 38 Hellhounds (I think my people were around level 22 then), and got attacked. Lost the two members of my party behind me from single bites before I got to the safer part of the Jungle. Also, the Kris Hunt Club mark. Dude, their breath attack causes every status anomaly known to man! Why didn't someone tell me?!

And Shield Wyrms on Cerobi Steppe. I don't even think I need to elaborate on that one. :?

Why yes, I'm one of those people who wanders the landscape, spots something and immediately thinks "Sweet! Kill it!" without really thinking. Why do you ask? :D

Cool thread!! AS above - The werewolves in FFXII ( so easy when you go back at level 81!!) The Marlboro in FFVII (Did anyone else get wary when they approached a marlboro in later games and they were so little and easy?!) The Hellhounds in Golmore Jungle (as effkay said, I too saw the glowing light!) Ruby Weapon FFVII (Still haven't beat him!!) BUT, I remember beating Seph in FFVII in about ten mins, without realising that I didn't have a strategy!! I must've just got lucky with my actions!!...

t-rex on the tress re you sure what the heck, never seen that lol and i have played the games like 20 times, are you sure it wasnt in the garden because outside at the start of game, the catapiller, monsters that drop screws, those fish at the beach, are the only ones that i have fought outside, been a while but at first they are hard but you can kill them, that is if you have the GF from the computer on you,.

I completely lost my confidence in fighting Malboros in Final Fantasy VIII after getting owned a lot of times with their Bad Breath. Well... that is when I came prepared with the proper Abnormal Status defenses

Yes! Those things drove me nuts. Karma sucked, as did that thing they would do when you summoned in battle with them, where they'd take a little voodoo doll and kill it. Fighting them really chaps the behind.

i remember when ff8 first came out nobody told me that if you talked to people before you got on boat that you lost points I always thought it was the time, then again anyone that has got perfect score for time in ff8 is cool, since its to hard to do, if you want the extra points for taking down the spider. yup when it comes to crap that can kill you i get the worsed im a expert, for the most part confused spell isn't so scary, for me but it does hurt me. ok here is one GUYS AND GALS, now it can be done since I did it at the start, mr GF that you fight from the lamp that you get diablos, if you don't know what you are doing you can get hurt bad, other then that ultima castle later on can be a pain if you are lazy! off FF, star ocean last boss is a pain, lucky I had mirror armour! ff tactics anywhere later in the game :)

Hahaha yeah, FFT, don't remeber which chapter, but at the ending of one chapter there was a boss battle inside a castle that was right after you had beaten another boss, so you couldn't level up in between if I'm not mistaken. I was wiped out a bunch of times before I could defeat that zodiac stoned guy! lol
And you are right again, Diablos was quite hard indeed if you'd use the lamp right away!
