Did it come out on DVD yet? I don't have a PSP so the UMD does nothing for me.ffsage
It's out in Japan, but not anywhere else yet. I've seen it and I must say it was everything that I hoped it would be and then some. Listening to it in Japanese and reading subtitles was annoying, though. I'm really looking forward to the US release and hearing the American voices.

I actually prefer the japanese voices over the american voices, and I don't mind the subtitles.
As for the movie, yes I have seen it, in fact I have downloaded the limited edition version of the movie which is 13gb long and it has everything it from deleted scenes to behind scenes. everything. It's an awsome movie just did not like the ending that much, it kinda reminded me of that dumb FFX ending.

That does not mean that the ending is similar to FFX, it just reminded me of it. I don't see any spoilers in that.

You do mean that generally you prefer the original dub as to voice overs, correct? I cant see how you could prefer the Japanese voice acting to the English dub, since its not out (?) Anyway yes, this movie was increadible. The biggest complaint I have heard from a lot of people is that "The story was not very good" but I disagree, this movie was made for those people who know and love Final Fantasy VII, there is little need to introduce these characters and there is a solid story behind all the overwhelming action, which wraps things up nicely.
In my own personal opinion the movie is every Final Fantasy VII fanboys wet dream. I found myself smilling if not laughing in awe at some of the battle sequences. The build up to the inevitable climax, literally made my heart stop. Most every Final Fantasy fan watching the movie knew it was comming, but when it finally does, its all the more sweeter. Fights are so frantic there are literally sequences that have characters juggling other characters from the speed of their attacks and its all bathed in the most beautiful CGI to date, with music that tugs at your heart strings with nostalgia as well as some new and very good tunes. This is a movie made for Final Fantasy VII fans and veterans, most viewers wont be able to get past the the frantic action and even that will be lacking for them (hint: try to name all the Limit Breaks!), for most people this will be a decent to good movie, for myself, it is one of the most awe inspiring, tribute movie to game ever created.
Yes I loved Advent Children that much and more. It was worth the wait.

Well I am not just talking about advent children, I am talking about in any Japanese movie I prefer the Japanese dub voice overs. Even when I get to hear the english dub voice overs for advent children I will still most likely prefer the original dub voice overs.
As for your comments on the movie, I do agree that this movie is the best fan service movie ever. But I lot of people who have not played FFVII really liked it. Then some didn't because ,like you said, they felt that the story was lacking which was not for us who have actually played FFVII.

What that I don't really like with it is that it is too much flying action and there is almost no blood.

Warning minor spoiler
Sephiroth's sword was the only thing that had blood on it and that was only at the beginning when he first showd up. But I kinda like the flying action cinematography. It's amazingly fun to watch these fights. They are some of the best fight scenes I have ever seen.Â
If the had a greater more complex story with a better ending that is kinda unfinished and ends up leaving you questioning it, then this movie could have been my the faverite movie ever.

You just said it. Just about everything that I thought of about AC. Its the only game movie made by fans (I'm sure the developers are fans too), to fans and for fans. Never expecting anything much from AC but got a real shock with jaw dropping graphics and fight scenes. It was true the story was lacking for non FF7 players but for those with FF7 experience, it should be known that FF7 has one of the most impressive story in console RPG and AC was just a small part of it.
I prefer the Japanese voice (with English sub) too, as in most Anime (where you can actually compare English and Japanese voiceover). It usually sounds more authentic and in-character, just my preference.

yeah, basically the more you understand FFVII the more you will like the story of FFVII: AC which is why the story is not lacking to us fans. Best fan made and fan service movie ever.

According to my friend and I quote "Final Fantasy the anime one [The Last Order OVA] had more story in a half an hour than Advent Children had in the whole of it" to which I replied "You should have a look at the discussion I am having on the Forums concerning the story" we proceeded to argue and I asked whether he had passed the game, to which he replied no. I told him that Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children speaks to the fans who have a connection with the game and know the characters very well.
The story as is, is already complex. We have a universe that has been well developed and is known to the people who played the game so details such as the relationships between Cloud & Co. hardly have to be developed because they already have been. If ever a movie were part of a game Advent Children is that movie. It is an extension of the story, introductions and explanations would have been tedious and for the most of us obsolete.

Exactly. You know the more I discuss FFVII: AC, the more of the story is revlealed. Much of the story in Advent Children is hidden, so discussing the movie allows you to explore those hidden storylines which in fact make the story of the movie quite long. This is a way for directors to add more story to the movie withour making it 5 hours long.
Also, the more I discuss the movie the more I like it. In fact, I am so close in considering this movie to my all time faverite movie of all time. Right now, Battle Royale is my faverite but is most likely going to change if contiue talking about FFVII: AC.

Battle Royale 2 is good but is is nothing compared to the brilliance of Battle Royale. Did you try downloading the movie from a torrent client cause that is how I got the movie? But I first saw it in my film class last spring. Plus I can rent the movie from a local movie rental store that imports movies from foreign countries. Oh that reminds me, they most like have the DVD Advent Children. I have to rent it now just so I can be one of the few non-japanese people who have touched it :P

[QUOTE="Nimroc"][QUOTE="xVxObliVioNxVx"][QUOTE="Nimroc"][QUOTE="xVxObliVioNxVx"][QUOTE="Arath_1"][QUOTE="xVxObliVioNxVx"]yeah, basically the more you understand FFVII the more you will like the story of FFVII: AC which is why the story is not lacking to us fans. Best fan made and fan service movie ever.xVxObliVioNxVx
I have I have wanted to see Battle Royale since it was announced but I have never got the chance so far
But the sequel is great in my opinion :)
It is just that I don't download movies and games very often and everytime I am renting a movie I don't have time to look everywhere for it :P
But I am sure that they have it at the local moive renting store because I saw it there once.
Well, one day I will see it :)
the sooner the better ;)
I am going to look more for it next time I rent movies :)
anyone know anything of FF7 ultima omega??? i havent heard much :(
Deadlyrain92
It's a novel that contains everything that you'd ever want to know about FFVII. It goes to every little detail, even the cross-dressing part. It also contains an additional story about Aerith after she dies. It's about how she meets all this people in the lifestream and how she tries to release holy to save the world. The story continues all the way up to the end of FFVII: AC The story is called Maiden Who Travels The Planet. So far I have only read ch. 6 of that story which takes place in the lifestream and when she meets Hojo in it. This was the only translated part of the story I could find. But I have also found a site that is translating the whole story right now, can't wait to read. I will post in on in this union so everyone can read it. But if you want to read chapter 6 to get a sneak peak to the story then check it out here:

oh and here is a little quote from that chapter "My son, king of Jenova...." This suggests that sephiroth was the one who had ultimite control.

i always wanted to see how vincent would play like in a shotter :DYa know, it made just as much sense. I also would like to point out the blatant disregard for physics. Anything that leaves the ground is weightless unless it "really wants" to go in a certain direction. I think all the characters have latent psychic powers.
