I've noticed that with each progressive system, there are three Final Fantasy titles on it. For example, on the NES there were FF, FFII, and FFIII. On the SNES, there were FFIV, FFV, and FFVI. On the PS1, there were FFVII, FFVIII, and FFIX. On the PS2, there were FFX, FFXI, and FFXII. (all of which are in the canon and not sequels or spin-offs). Going along that theory, by time the PS4 comes out, we should be seeing FFXVI, FFXVII, and FFXVIII. Of course that is assuming the series goes on the PS3 as FFXIII, FFXIV, and FFXV. Again, it's something I've noticed.
