Probably Omega in 8, or even Trema if you don't use Cat Nip. As for required bosses in the storyline, there aren't too many I consider challenging at all, the only one that gave me any real issues that I remember was Gardua or whatever that bird's name was in FF3.
Sephiroth. Because his the only boss which hates to be beaten down by people and somehow or someway he will revive AGAIN and kick our butts AGAIN. But players always prevail so hehe. (Yeah I was kicked alot by him too especially in Kingdom Hearts *_________* )
Sephiroth is one of the strongest but Ruby Weapon is a battle u almost instantle loose 2 characters in the begining of the fight thats a harder battle if u arent prepared for the fight.
Although some people may think i am stupid because i am gonna say that for me Emerald Weapon from FF7 is the hardest.Without KOTR summon materia is practically IMPOSSIBLE to beat. Even now i'm trying to beat it without KOTR and i cant.And of course Omega from FF8 is the second hardest boss for me.
Sephiroth is quite literally THE EASIEST boss in FF history. I kill him in two turns! At about level 60 or so he becomes a complete pushover. In fact, I didn't even know he had his "destroy the galaxy with a five minute animation" move until I saw it on youtube - he never even got close to using it.
Of the PS+ generation, Ultimecia and Necron are BY FAR the hardest. They are the only ones that can still kill you even if you are maxed totally out.
Omega Weapon in FFVIII followed by Ozma in FFIX may be the "toughest" bosses period, but keep in mind I don't have the PAL version of FFX (Dark Aeons + Penance). Also, beating Trema for the first time in X-2 is really difficult (though granted I didn't have the Mascot job yet and I don't recall whether or not you can have it at that point).
I'd say Omega weapon...I can't beat him still! Probably because all my characters are lvl100 and he uses lvl5 death as his first move, not good for the characters health! Can anyone tell me what you get if you beat him? PM me with the answer if you can.
Well there is a few...First would be Trema from FFX-2, then some of the monster rancher guys in FFX...then the last boss in FF3(if you were a low level, he would totally destroy you!)
Penance from Final Fantasy X International is still on my toughest Final Fantasy Boss list ever. It can still trash you even if you already have all stats to 255Â :shock:
I always trained up so much before the final battles that I didn't struggle too much with them, but the boss which I found the hardest to defeat was Sephiroth......

Nemesis is actually easy. Wakka + Tidus Overdrive with Everyone else will fry him.

How much did you train though? I think the real thing with Sephiroth was that if you didn't get Knights of the Round, the fight might of dragged on. I mean, I had the summon and 3 mimics so I mean, I used it and mimiced it killing Sephiroth before he had a chance to attack, but without Knights, the fight might of gone on a couple of more rounds during that time, I'm sure Sephiroth might of been able to kill me.
