I don't know. In terms of emotion brought on, I would probaly have to say Final Fantasy X as Tidus and Auron both "died" which was sad, but then Yuna didn't want to lose Tidus and so FFX had the most emotional ending.

Yeah, i'm a big fan of emotional crap, so FFX, although, FFVII's is also very awesome!
FFVIII for me...maybe bcuz it's right after doing some good boss battles. Also it's pretty and emotional, although squall smiling made an awkard moment. I just saw the FFX ending again recently and..er...let's just say it's not as good as I remembered it, and I sure don't think it's worth going through all those stupid aeon battles for.
Certainly not VII - I never found out how Red XIII managed to have children that weren't cross breeds of some kind.
X is great, it's the kind of ending that you know has to happen, but you still pleed with the control that there's something you can do about it. Great stuff.
I'm going to go with Final Fantasy VI. After the epic quest, it was great watching all of the characters trying to escape from Kefka's Tower. Plus it also inferred greatly into the future of all the character with the dialogue that took place.
Final Fantasy X absolutely has the best ending in my standards! It was such an awesome ending also. It really shocked me to find out that Tidus was already dead when Yuna tried to reach out and grab him. That ending will always stay in my mind for years to come!!
And Final Fantasy XII isn't even out yet to whoever said that the game is already out!! That game won't be out til sometime next year according to OPM!
IMO, the most emphatic and emotive ending was FFX, it was like the ending of a really good Hollywood blockbuster, or an epic novel, truly the greatest ending I have ever come across in an FF, despite the fact that I enjoyed the game much less than FF7 or FF8....
