Do you mean if they made a Final Fantasy like that or if the previous games was like that ?Nimroc
I mean, if they made a Final Fantasy game with Blood and intensive voilence and it got rated M for Mature, would it hurt the sales

I don't know, but I know atleast that if it would have a decent story then I would buy it
Well considering that all FF games lack the bad language other then the ones were censored like Barret's and Cid's and no nudity and blood. I wouldn't see how it will even get Rated M rating
But IF! they rated M this game I can see this game lose some profit. But like how this game got ppl hooked to it's titles these days I can see kids beg for this game to there parents. I'm sure if they have older brothers and sisters they'll be very lucky to know they wouldn't mind letting watch and let them play. I'm sure the older siblings are responsible enough to watch what they do.

not by much
Turning the series into a M rated would actually help it sell more games. FVII was the most mature FF game ever made and it sold more copies then any other FF game.
But square actually did make a M-rated FF game. It's FFVI. The game had some nudity in it. But that nudity was covered up for the US version. But I am not sure if that nudity was enough to make it a M-rated game because it was rarely seen.

myself I don't see FFVII as more adult then the other games in the serie

I am talking about in terms of blood, violance and language. Those are the things that make a game M-rated. Though FFVIII was more mature then FVII with its love story and all, it just did not have blood, violence and language that FFVII had that would make it more contraversal. I mean, in what FF game do you see a character getting stabbed through the heart. That scene is to this day, the most violent scene made for any FF game.

I can't remember seeing any blood or such things when she died :)
take the opening scene in FFVIII where you actually do see a little blood for a change :)
but as I see it Final Fantasy as other RPGs has to get more adult than they are
I don't know any people who play FF who are under the age of 17, in other words I think people would be angry but just think GTA is rated mature and look at those sales, with popularity like FInal Fantasy, giving it an M wouldn't even dent sales.LinoNoPegs88
I am but i would still get it.
Final Fantasy was rated M for mature? Do you think that would hurt the sales?Soulja_West
Yes. A lot of kids under 17 buy FF games. All the game stores where I live force you to have an adult with you if you're under 17 and you want an M game. If you want a T game, you have to bring in someone that's a guardian over 13 years of age.

yeah, but the blood I am talking about is in the shinra building at the beginning of the game that sephiroth made.
Plus that blood from FFVIII is just a little scratch :P its nothing heartbreaking like when aerith got stabbed.
Yeah, I also think that FF games are maturing.

well, the Shinra building had some blood on the floor so you are right there
but think of the scene when Squall gets hit by a Ice spike ( or Ice spear or whatever you may call it )
and I almost forgot
the scene when Squall is tortured

I guess that we can keep discussing this to an end because I guess that we won't convince each other anyway:P
but I have to say that I would atleast call FFVIII to be the most serious of the games :)
