What I look forward to in Final Fantasy games you say? Well, I look forward to the Gameplay and Story. Those are the two most important things I look foward to in Final Fantasy games. Without a good story and good gameplay, then the Final Fantasy series would be boring. I'm looking forward to FF Vurses XII because it will be an Action RPG.

I agree. Those are my most important Elements to a Final Fantasy game. The Story has to be good (but not if the gameplay is amazing) and the gameplay has to be really good (just has to be). I cant play a game with an aweful gameplay behind it.

i agree. gameplay and story are the most important aspects of an ff game. without that youve got nothing really. next would be the sounds, fx and music, and of course gameplay. now i have these as the second thing i look for because ff is known for great music and without it the mood for much of the game just wouldnt be as intense and it is important that they change the system and if its easy to use or not. finally the graphics. theres no worries to be had there. ff games are some of the most beautiful games out there. when i saw the videos while playing ffviii i was in aw. just about every ff game out there has done that to me. thats why its last on my list of what i look for.

The first thing I want to know about any Final Fantasy game is its Storyline. Graphics aren't as big to me, but are still semi-high on the list (I grew up with the 2-D graphics! 3-D, who needs them! :P) Anyway, if a game doesn't have a good storyline, but amazing graphics, I won't even play the game through just te see the graphics. The storyline is what is entertaining about the game and it is what keeps me playing. Most Final Fantasies have a engrossing storyline making you want to continue with the quest just to see what happens next. Without a good storyline, Final Fantasy (or any other series) wouldn't be as entertaining as they are.

I go and see if the story and gameplay are good, normally I hear if it's good from my friends, or I go read a monthly magazine about PS2 to see if the game is good.

But I'm a bit of franchise dude so I don't really care about gameplay and stuff like that when i grab my hands on a fresh new FF game, I just wanna play it.

The first Final fantasy thing about the game be it chocobos or certain music especially the fanfare. Thus far (with the exception of X-2) i've never really been disappointed with the story so i tend not to anaylze it as much as i would other games

The first thing I look for in a Final Fantasy game is not so much the story, as that is shown to you throughout the game, but the characters. Remember, this is the first thing you look for not the most important element. Usually, the first character you meet in a Final Fantasy and indeed an Rpg is the main character and I base my first impressions on if I can relate to them and what their personality and backstory are like. Of course, my opinion of them could change throughout the game. A perfect example of this would be Squall in Final Fantasy VIII. I hated the character at the beginning of the game but as the story progressed, so did his personality and by the end he was a completely changed character and that change was for the better. However when I first played Final Fantasy X, unfortunately I did not like Tidus' character from the outset and my opinion of him did not change throughout the game. Characters are what I look for first since in my opinion if you break the word story down, characters would probably for me be the most important aspect of that word. After you get to know some of the characters at the beginning of the game then you can let the story unfold.

Considering its FF I would look for a great characters, a good lead character and lots of good main character. I would also look for really good gameplay preferablly turn based.

The very first thing that I expect from a Final Fantasy title is the great stories that FF has always given us. It needs to be exciting, innovative, and intriguing. The characters have to be deep in history and have a significant role to the story and other characters. I expect to have at least four plyable characters in the story. I look for richly detailed worlds with unlimited exploration. I look for side-quests that have become standard for the FF series. I also expect the central story to be at least 50 hours of gameplay. Anything less is too short for a FF Story. Ilook for emotional characters that I will not forget. These are just a few things that I expect from a Final Fantasy title. Until later, Game On!
