What will cause Final Fantasy's end? Or SE's end?

Well? Bankruptcy? FF fans getting jaded?

Square Enix seems like an unstoppable gaming giant now. What with all those other franchises like Valkyrie Profile, Dragon Quest, Kingdom Hearts etc, it doesn't seem like Square Enix would fall any time soon.

Will this Final Fantasy ever be "final"? What will it be like? When will that be?

With the way almost anything with Sqaure-Enix on it sells, it'll be a looooong time before that happens.

In SE's calculations, i only know that compilation of FFVII will last 10 years or so. Fabula Nova Crystallis will probably last 20 years or so.

That's what they speculate themselves. You're right about FFXIV being eons away, but meanwhile, there'll probably be a lot of FF spin-offs being developed

Long time ago on a interveiw with Nomura he said after the FFXIII series is done they only are gonna be doing final fantasy remakes so thats kinda gonna be the end of ff and what i mean by this is we PROBABLY wont see a FF14.But Enix will last for a long time but I heard they were talking about the company not being around in 20 years til then Enix til makes games.Shygirlfrumfl

thats not really true, SO or DQ... or KH are nothing like FF, so they couldn't make a SO game and call it a FF because they're totally different.

i heard they were going to concentrate more on remakes and sequels.

I remember hearing that too. Years ago (like, before X released) either XIV or XV was supposidly going to be the last FF.

I don't see SE ending... It is alreasdy well-sestablished and even they do the most stupid things in the world, fans will continue to be there. Fantasy_Gamer

SE is a very well established company, probably one of the most well known gaming companies, period. Final Fantasy is a gaming staple and no matter what anyone things, a much more well thought out stable of games than Madden. However, I thought SE has gotten deluded by various things recently. I think the originality of Final Fantasy has gotten worse since FFX. There have been nothing but sequels since then. Just when FFXIII was announced, they announced with it several games as part of a series from the original game. Not sequels entirely, but with it sharing the title, that's pretty much what they are.

If people buy the FF's that are crap, they'll keep making crap and then we'll be in a bad spot. Will SE or FF die? No. But the FF franchise went for around fifteen years of FF titles only being original, seperate games. That's changed and the name has been deluded with sequels and prequels. So if things don't change, I do honestly fear we'll lose what made FF so great in the first place. I believe its originality is slowly dying. Granted, the titles may have similarities, which is to be expected. But recently, it feels like SE isn't really trying.
