I actually liked the J-Pop....
The music in Final Fantasy X-2 was just horrific. But that just shows how much of a factor music actually is, Nobuo Uematsu is an absolute genius. Characters and their development, personality play a big part as well and so, of course, does the story.Somegamer

The story is easily the mosy important part for a FF game IMO.darksword1123Yeah, clearly story makes or breaks the game, I totally agree. You only get really involved with Final Fantasy when you learn to like the characters and care about what they are going through in the story. But the story can't do it all on its own. Without the amazing music, cutscenes, and gameplay it would just be a good story that no one would bother playing.
I agree with the people that say the music and the story.
Music: The music makes the game the best. The music adds the feeling and emotion like you are there in that place. An example would be the death of Aeris. How many people cried when that happened? I did. The music did it for me.
Story: The story makes the game what it is. Without it, you are wandering aimlessly. The story gets you involved to the characters and puts you in the place of the characters. An example would be, yet again, the death of Aeris. The story made the player become attached to the characters and when that happened, players cried because they were attached to Aeris.
The music, setting, and story all make the game, but its the characters that are the greatest element. without good characters, no one would care about them and no one would ever continue the game. If it wasnt for the great characterization Square puts into every FF game, would we have really felt for Aeris when she was killed???Dark_SoulWraith
Good point. I'd have to agree with that as well.
