I'm quite interested with Final Fantasy XIV. I hope the payment scheme would be more affordable so that more could afford to play it.

agreed, FW... i too would love for them to make it more accessible to ALL SE fans, so that it has a longer life span. Making it a paid subscription means that after the novelty has worn off from the release, the majority of players will stop playing and anyone who picks it up after that will potentially find themselves with a much smaller online presence.
Dissidia FTW! My excitement for it rivals that of when Crisis Core was coming out  I cant wait to get my hands on it! The voice astors sound great in the trailer (Johnny Young Bosch as Firion! Oh yeah!)
Final Fantasy XIII looked awesome as usual. Ill have to get use to the voice actors because I watched too many japanese trailers :P But I thought Lightning and Snow were good.
Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days also looked interesting. Anyone know exactly when it takes place? I havent played KH2 yet. It looks like it is between KH1 and KH2 but is it before or after Chain of Memories?
II guess I am allowed to voice my opinion.
Well, then I think FFXIV is a blasphemy of sorts as far as I am concerned.
Why? Here's why :
A) I don't think JRPGs make good MMOs. Maybe someone needs to whack me or tell me I live in 2117 where JRPGs have advanced beyond imagination, but JRPGs at the present stage do not meet the required conditions to be a good MMORPG in my opinion. 95% of MMOs have hack n slash games with minor variants and a large questing system. FFXI was turn-based and most likely FFXIV will be one as well. Do you seriously think that a turn-based RPG will keep MMO addicts ADDICTED ONLINE for 100+ hours? I say no.
B) Some people say this is good and hope they get to play it for FREE. I say not. PSN is a free service. But since it's free, the developers have to manage their OWN servers online. So, if you play FFXIV on SE's server they will charge you a subsciption fee to play it. On the contrary, Xbox Live is a paid membership. MS manages all the servers for the devs. So,playing a MMO on 360 is free as long as you're a Gold member. So,FFXIV will not be free (also because it's on PC and that's a paid subscription no doubt).
C) My MAJOR problem is something which will come across as me acting foolishly. I personally think that EVERY numbered (in the sense I,II,III and so on) hold a special place in every FF fan's heart. Every FF had something different and something memorable. I see FF I and I am reminded of the simplistic plots which were great in it's heart and so on. BUT, the "tradition" of this broke when FFXI came out. When people tried to think about FFXI,they couldn't remember anything. Because it had nothing that fans could relate to the series (not talking about chocobos and all here). No memorable characters,no emos, no twist endings and stuff like that. NOTHING. Say what, most of the old-time FF fans I know have never even played FFXI unless there was a free trial-period. So, do you expect they will play FFXIV by any chance?
I don't think SE should have made this EVEN if FFXI was popular of sorts in Japan. It was nowhere near that popular in the West. Then, why bother?
I was hoping there would be a new trailer for Versus, but I guess we'll have to wait till Tokyo Game Show. FF XIV is the one I'm excited for.

This is how I feel about XIV-XI and XIV shouldve been FFONLINE 1 and FFONLINE 2....
now on subject, im still most excited about FFXIII and Dissidia. other then that, maybe the After Years but not that impressive a show t o me.
You bet! And so do I. :P I don't wish to miss another FF just like what happened in FFXI.Fantasy_GamerWhile I hope you get to play FFXI someday,FG but from my experience with FFXI, I wouldn't even want to attach the "FF" before the XI. Plainly because, other than the general FF setting with chocobos and all, FFXI didn't feel one bit like an FF game. But then that's only me I guess.
Contrary to what warrior said (and maybe most MMORPGers), that (hack n' slash) is the one causing me to shy away from MMORPGs. So, I'm very much willing to give FFXIV a chance. :)Fantasy_GamerThat's what makes me believe that SE's reason behind making FFXIV might be to capture the ever-growing MMO-market in Japan. Unlike the West, Japanese gamers haven't yet come under the spell of MMORPGs and the main reason behind it is the lack of commercial MMORPGs. Most of the Japanese MMOs are the free online ones, which aren't very addictive at all. Due to this fact, FFXI was quite a success in Japan. Even now, most of the Japan-dedicated servers go in full and maybe that's why SE has decided to go in with another MMO.
I agree with lightwarrior totally. It should not have the numbered title because that declares that its a MAIN FF. It's not, its an MMO. There was little memorable to it, though it was somewhat addicting for awhile. I played it myself, though in retrospect, $12 a month wasn't worth it. I have no doubt in my mind that it will be another paid subscription. And what I find even more idiotic/moronic/retarded/whatever word you want, is that it's coming out at around the same time or possible BEFORE FFXIII. Usually I don't use internet talk too much but...WTF? I'm not impressed by anything about it yet, but I'll try and keep an open mind. However, it should be known I'm having a very difficult time even doing that.
On to actual good news, I'm waiting to get my hands on Dissidia, it looks even more awesome every time I read or see something new from it. I haven't heard any english voices yet, I've decided to surprise myself. Though I (hopefully) expect the same VA's for the FF characters that have been voiced in the past. I also can't wait for FFXIII. I saw a recent trailer showing a mix of CG and battles. I'm more and more impressed each time I see something new from it as well. I'd like a more indepth look at the battles but I like how each character gets their own summon. It's looking like a real epic, a real FF, reminding me of the sci fi of FFVII. Plus I noticed a little chocobo...please bring back the little bits of comedy and cuteness. It was sorely missing in FFXII. I hated the game but I feel more and more confident that XIII is on the right track. I feel SE has made several misses since FFX-2 so (besides Crisis Core) I hope they'll be back on track. Then again, with XIV I'm not so sure. >_>
i want FF13 and FF14!!!
but before that....
i want a TV and a PS3
kinetic-core
HI CHOBI!!!
i want a PS3 too ^___^

Like I said earlier the only possible reason of SE making another FF MMO is that FFXI despite not being that popular in West was a huge hit back in Japan. Japanese gaming market is slowly opening up towards MMOs and SE are keen to capitalise on that by using the "FF brand power".
That still doesn't justify making it a "numbered" title and releasing it around the time of FFXIII's release.
