Then you will have to kill me. I dont believe that FFXII will be as good with characters and Story and obviously gameplay as well.FFVII hands down and on a side note:
I hope FFXII does the name right.

I have never played FFVII (Big disappointment) but even i know that the characters are AMAZING and interesting.FF7 has the best characters from the goog guys to the bad guys all the characters on there are the best ever

From the selection of FFX characters the only one that I think is a great character for the series is Auron. SomegamerYes uron was great but the others where great also. Full of life

in every final fantasy there is
a hyper jumpy character
qiute cool character
extremely unique character
auron fits into to two of them.
Yeah and so does Tidus lol.[QUOTE="Somegamer"]From the selection of FFX characters the only one that I think is a great character for the series is Auron. jordina

Yeah and so does Tidus lol.i say rikku,s the jolly one in x
tidus is a unique one because he is a dream of the fayth but auron is even more special.
he is unsent, has lived in dream zanarkand and seems to know everything.
surely while living in zanarkand he would have figured that yevon was a false religion though does not mention it.

No Auron knew that Yevon was a false religion cause of Yunalesca and the Final Aeon and what she had said to Auron, Jecht and Braska about Sin (She told Yuna, Tidus, Wakka, Kimahri, Lulu and Rikku the same thing).Best cast of characters?
FFIX, hands down.
Everyone in the cast has their own goals and beliefs, and some characters - Sir Rusty, Zidane and Amarant - just would't really hang out with each other outside of the party if they could help it. These guys have their own sense of purpose and except for about 3 characters, dont just tag along because they have nothing better to do.Â
Zidane - trying to find out who he is
Garnet - running from the family and trying to find her history
Vivi - why was I made?
Rusty (Steiner) - finding out that life is more than service to another
Eiko - trying to find a family
Amarant - tag alongÂ
Freyja - Trying to find her lost love, tags along after home is destroyed
Quina - tag along
With a lot of the other FF games, you have one or two main characters and the rest are like, "oh, these guys are saving the world, I should do that too!".
I submit for debate FFX.
Tidus wants to find out what is going on, get Yuna and confront his father.
Yuna needs to defeat Sin.
Everyone else protects Yuna so she can get the job done. This doesnt mean the characters are meaningless or just tag-alongs, but there isnt as much in-depth character development in comparitive games. FFVI is one exception to the rule, and I like its cast as well.
FFVII is debatedly the best FF ever, but the character development is good, but not good enough to beat FFIX. Best character development IMO is with Cloud, Aeris, Barrett, and Red XIII.
WOW, that is a lot of information on you best FF through characters lol. FFX isnt bad with Story, in my eyes it is the best (i havnt played FFVII yet so still on the fence).Best cast of characters?

Final Fantasy VI without a doubt.
The game made every character of equal importance, and gave each a great backstory and role.
**Final Fantasy VI spoilers**
Terra - A half human/half esper who was a slave to the empire. She looks for love in a world where she does not fit in.
Locke - Self proclaimed "treasure hunter" who has a painful past with the loss of his girlfriend and fiance, Rachel. He works to protect the women around him in an attempt to redeem his past.
Edgar - The king of Figaro, and a lady's man. He took on the burden of being king, knowing that his brother wanted to find his own path after their father's death.
Sabin - Edgar's twin brother, he abandoned the town of Figaro upon his father's death. He became disgusted by politics and ran off to study martial arts under the master Duncan.
Celes - Former soldier of the empire, she was genetically engineered to use magic. She is arrested for rebelling against the empire, only to be rescued by Locke. She is first suspected of being a traitor, but she proves her loyalty to her friends.
Cyan - Strongest swordsman of Doma. His wife and son are killed when Kefka poisons Doma's water supply. He needs to come to terms with the loss of his family, and take up arms against the empire that wronged him.
Gau - A wild man whose mother died giving birth to him. His father went insane and thought his son was a monster, throwing him into the wild. His insane father thought it all a dream and forgot about him entirely. He someday must face his father, this is probably one of the saddest moments in the game.
Mog - A dancing moogle. He lives in Narche's caves, and helps Locke and Terra escape. He is saved by Locke after being held hostage by the pickpocket Lone Wolf. He is told in a dream to fight the empire.
Setzer - A gambler and airship pilot. He is in love with the opera singer Maria, who is a striking resemblance with Celes. He was return to the grave of his late best friend and rival pilot, Darill to come to terms with his past.Â
Shadow - A mercenary, accompanied only by his dog, interceptor. His past is revealed in his dreams. He was really a thief named Clyde working with another named Baram. They are on the run from the authorities and Baram is hurt. Clyde leaves him behind rather than put him out of his misery, a decision that troubles him greatly. He finds his way to Thamasa where a woman nurses him to health. They have a baby girl together, Relm. He leaves the town in Relm's interest because he is an outlaw. He then takes on the persona of Shadow.
Strago - A 70 year old man from Thamasa, a descendent of the Mage Warriors. He spent much of his life hunting the monster Hidon, never succeeding. He takes care of Relm after her mother dies.
Relm - Daughter of Clyde. She is an active artist, whose portraits can actually capture people's spirits.
Umaro - He is a sasquatch living in the caves of Narche. He joins in the fight against the empire because he in Mog's slave.Â
Gogo - An extremely mysterious character. Many arguments have been made to support him being another character. He is a master mime who can copy anyone else's techniques.

I'd say Final Fantasy X by far then Final Fantasy 7. I also think Final Fantasy 9 was pretty good. I mean not very often a FF main hero be anything else except human. SoraVsTidus
Yup, FFIX has the favorite characters for me. FFVII and FFX also have really good characters too, but c'mon, who doesn't love Vivi?
Whats the point of these Topics? Everyone always says FF7 except for a few individuals.
FFIX, FFV and FFIV had the best, they were way more better than any of the FF's i've played

And us true fans don't just point out the obvious thing and say that, we go old school on them.
