Well, I think the strategy they're taking right now, putting all of their development resources into the FNC franchise is the right strategy. It's good, from a business standpoint, to keep pushing forward and not get stalled by doing remakes and such.
But I'd like to see them devote a team to making a VII remake. It would be financially successful, don't you guys think?
They are making a remake but the person who said that also said it may not be started for 3-5 years. But it will net them alot of cash. Personnaly I think they're going over the top with FF games (I think they've got 6 or so on the go now)

Wrong, Square-Enix Announced that they ARE NOT creating the Remake to Final Fantasy VII (Maybe in the future).

You're kind of contradicting yourself there fellow.
Why not remake (not port) some of the NES/SNES-era FF's, or at least give us old-schoolers some fanservice! I started playing FF when it was a fledgeling series and I'd like to see the older games get a makeover or perhaps a sequel or two. I'm sick of all the focus on FFVII, why not FFVI or FFV? FFVII was a great game, don't get me wrong, but it seems that it's the only one in the series that people know of, and that annoys me!
I think that Square-Enix should definately focus on the Final Fantasy series. I feel that they need to leave FFVII alone now. What about a FFIV or V updated model? I would love to see a FFVII play and look like FFVII Advent Children also. I just feel that us old timers should be given a little attention also.

why. i love the way the old ff,s are and i love their 2D graphics. why make them 3D. it might loose the charm.
