I heard that they are releasing a new Star Wars game next year, I was wondering what it might be or if anyone has any ideas that would be cool to add into this new Star Wars game.

So far there has been little said about it - nobody really knows what it's about.

It's new AI and physics engine (I forget what they were called) were showed at e3 with a demo of Indiana Jones 2007 (they both have the engines). Check out the updates for the game to see it, it sounds cool.

I thought heard something about a graphics engine that is being used for both Indiana Jones 2007 and Star Wars 2007 called "Euphoria," i have actually never seen their work or i dont remember anything they did.

It's dynamic, so the same action by a character never looks the exact same twice (more like real life). And the AI is a lot more like people in real life too.

Thats going to be pretty cool, the next thing i want to know is what is this game going to be possibly about, I think i heard something about it taking place during the times of Episode 3 and 4, i dont know if its true, but it does seem like a pretty logical guess.

I hope they release some more info about this game soon, one thing i do hope is that it does not take place at the time of the movies, i would rather have be in the expanded universe, like they did with KOTOR and the Jedi Knight series.

Well, if it is before or after the movies (expanded universe), which one would you hope for it to be?  Before or after?

I personally would like after, for the fact that they should keep making KOTOR's and continue that story..., but then continue after the movies with this game being able to either build a force against the rebirth of the jedi, or help the jedi rebuild.

To answer question, i dont really have a preferance, cause like in KOTOR that was a good game with a good story, while with the Jedi Knight series, they are pretty good too. I would like to see a game that would take place about 20 or 30 years before Episode 1.

Yeah, it would be awsome if they all looked cinematic and stuff. I also heard that they're focusing on force powers though... that sounds like fun too. The ability to push and pull everything in the environment, with the new physics engine anything's possible

Me to, im surprised lucasarts.com or ign.com doesnt have anything on this game, but they do have stuff on Indiana Jones 2007, i dont get that and both most likely will be released around the same time frame.

I wonder why they didnt go into detail about this game at E3, because i have been looking for any type of information on any other Star Wars games beside LEGO Star Wars 2.

At the San Diego Comic Con Steve Sansweet has just wrapped the Star Wars spectacular, and he has this to say about the Star Wars 2007 game: New video game coming in 2007 will bridge Episode III & IV. The footage shown at the event was mind blowing as LucasArts incoporates new euphoria technology taking next generation gaming to a new level. You will want this game no doubt about it as it uses both new and old characters to tell a story that has some incredible revelations.

Posted By GameSpot (I'd watch it before LucasArts has it taken off YouTube):

[UPDATE] YouTube clip shows "pre-visualization" of Jedis giving demonstrations of The Force to unwilling stormtroopers.

By Tim Surette, GameSpot Posted Jul 24, 2006 7:27 pm GMT

At E3 2006, attendees had to be in the loop to get a peek at what LucasArts had in store for the next-gen edition of its unnamed Star Wars game. Behind closed doors, elite members of the press go to check out the latest technology from the house that Lucas built, including footage of what is believed to be the cornerstone of the upcoming game--the outer space voodoo magic knows as The Force.

Now, an Internet-connected computer is all gamers need to see the Jedi powers in action. A minute-long video has surfaced on YouTube.com, and shows unidentified Jedis demonstrating The Force on some unsuspecting Empire minions.

LucasArts hasn't detailed the new games, set for release on the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3 next year, but if the video is any indication, they'll involve plenty of telekinesis and rag-doll effects.

At E3, the video was accompanied by an interactive demo featuring some tongue-in-cheek Star Wars humor (such as Jar-Jar Binks frozen in Carbonite). For more information on LucasArts' presentation, read GameSpot editor Brad Shoemaker's take from E3.

[UPDATE] LucasArts contacted GameSpot to clarify a few pieces of information. The video was given out to members of Hyperspace, the company's online Star Wars community. The clip is also a "pre-visualization"--a video made to give people an idea of what to expect in the upcoming game, and is not running on the game's engine.

According to TheForce.Net the next-gen Star Wars game so far called Star Wars 2007, may be called Force Unleashed. Read the article at TF.N here: http://www.theforce.net/topstory/story/LucasArts_NextGen_Game_Title_Announced_103539.asp

In my opinion, i think if they truly wanted to, they could come up with a better name than "Star Wars: Force Unleashed" it sounds like they didnt put any effort into coming up with a new subtitle.

well, it is just what Hasbro has called their toy line, which is based on the game. Doesn't neccessarily mean that is what it is going to be called exactly.

From ComputersandVideogames.com: The first details of LucasArts' PS3 and Xbox 360 Star Wars project have finally emerged, from the latest issue of US mag Game Informer. It's called Star Wars: Force Unleashed and takes place between Episode III and Episode IV, when new Sith on the block Darth Vader is out to wipe the galaxy clean of runaway Jedi. As Vader's apprentice, you're on a secret mission to dive head-first into the forbidden Dark Side of the force, take out the emperor and rule the galaxy as master and apprentice. Awww. Xbox 360 and PS3 versions are being developed in-house at Lucasarts, while PS2, PSP and DS duties have been outsourced to another, unnamed developer. Advertisement: George Lucas reportedly has a lot of input in the project, and even helped design some of the characters. Force Unleashed uses LucasArts' much-touted Eurphoria engine, which calculates environmental damage such as smashing crates in real-time. One given example of the tech is how a tree will either break in two or splinter realistically depending on how you hit it. Likewise, steel will dent appropriately when damaged your fancy Force powers. And speaking of Force powers, many of the world-bending tricks from the E3 tech demo are present in Force Unleashed, including the "cannon ball"-like force push, with controls presented in a similar vein to the excellent Psi-Ops. One scene reportedly has you battling Jedi Knight Shaak Ti in the Jedi Temple, after the galaxy-wide order to exterminate of the Jedi. There's also the suggestion of being able to control your own pack of Rancors, the gigantic beasties that Jabba the Hutt likes to keep under his gaff. But we all know how Star Wars ends so it's going to be a very predictable ####-up for Vadar's Palpatine-trouncing plans, right? LucasArts promises to shake up the Star Wars lore with alternate endings in Unleashed, where the bad guys really can win. We'll bring you more details - and hopefully media - as it arrives. Where's the Wii version though? Perfect for the Wii Remote...

I wonder if they are going to have a collector's edition or limited edition version of the game.
